Mike Simmons is my current top pick for the 9th District race

There are lots of good progressive options that I greatly respect and won't be mad if they won

But he both deeply understands this community and has a proven track record of getting stuff done for trans Chicagoans
Less photo ops, more fighters!

The 9th District deserves more than just someone who will vote the right way and say the right things. We need a Representative who will be an active champion for our rights, especially when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable.

Today, I spoke with Kilmar Abrego Garcia and his wife, Jennifer. In April, when I met with him in El Salvador, Trump said he would never set foot in the U.S. again.

This case has never been about one man alone; if the govt can violate the constitutional rights of one, all our rights are threatened.

The Discourse is about speed cameras and ignition interlocks. Neither of these are carceral, because they are alternatives to police and prisons. Speed cameras remove racist and violent cops from enforcement of speeding, and interlocks prevent multiple offenses - or crashes - that lead to jail time.

My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
It must be wild to get to abuse the public then pay for it with the public's money

Making this threat was an incredibly stupid thing to do. If he follows through now, he risks a revolt inside his own party over the fact that he's attacking a red state. If he doesn't follow through, he's announcing to the world that he's a paper tiger.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

A huge night for Democrats:

—They flip Miami's mayorship.
—They flip a state House district in Georgia that had voted Trump by 13%.
—They keep Albuquerque's mayorship, while the liberal faction flips city council.
—And they get big overperformances (+18 & +22) in 2 Florida specials.

RESULTS: Democrat Tim Keller has won reelection as mayor of Albuquerque.

He defeats a former Republican sheriff, who took issue with Keller's executive order that limited collaboration with ICE.

And that's not all: Liberal faction seizes majority a city council.
