Christ alive. One of the most unhinged racists we've seen in UK political life, and that's really saying something.

I'm hopeful such an extremist candidate will be very likely to lose, but if he wins...that's a real canary in the coalmine...
NEW: Former academic Matt Goodwin has been announced as Reform UK's candidate for the Gorton & Denton byelection.

French publishing house Harlequin decided to use AI translation instead of human translations.

All their freelance translators (some of whom had been working with Harlequin for +30y!!!) were told they would no longer receive work from Harlequin

Matthew Goodwin objects to prosecuting this: ‘I think it’s time for the British to gang together, hit the streets and start the slaughter. Violence and murder is the only way now. Start off burning every migrant hotel then head off to MPs’ houses and Parliament, we need to take over by FORCE.’

Counterpoint: those away games include Anfield, St James Park, Old Trafford, Villa Park and Stamford Bridge.

9th best attack considering those fixtures is fine, and currently has us top of the league.
Nine teams have scored more goals away from home in the Premier League this season than Arsenal. Feels like they're going to have to find the net more often on the road if they want to win the title.

So far they have dropped points in four of the five away games where they have conceded.

This is my cyclical reminder that there's really only one consistently reliable source of info in the public record that isn't owned by right wing billionaires, who really want to put an end to it.

Please give at least the $2.75 minimum they request if you can.

Labour have lost more votes to the Greens than to Reform. What they don't understand is that Green voters won't 'come back' while the party is seen to be right-wing
A lot to agree with in here. (More?) proof that Labour's strategy isn't working is this chart I've shared before from @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social. Labour are losing voters to both the left and right, and it's getting worse. They were holding on to 54% of their 2024 voters in June, 50% Sept, 40% Nov.

This whole "you're not mentally ill you're just weak" bollocks being pumped out by the BBC this morning is really really dangerous.
If you're finding life hard to handle, please please please seek help.
Your GP won't be one of the anonymous wankers telling the BBC that you're wasting their time.

Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

Huge respect to the papers for finding both an 88 year old worried about the tax bill on her 6 bedroom Kensington house and a 20 year old fretting about only being able to save £12k a year tax free.
Top work all around. These are not easy case studies to find.

How much money must you have earned to have paid “millions” in taxes? Follow up question, how have you earned enough to pay millions in taxes, but somehow a few grand extra has ruined your retirement plans?
Just cancel your Netflix subscription and stop buying avocados. You'll be fine

All the supposedly progressive people saying 'Nigel Farage's racism doesn't matter. His fans love it'.

It matters whether the leader of the party leading all the opinion polls is an outright racist. It matters if he called black people 'wogs' and said 'gas them' to Jews. Not everything is a game

This is clear proof of how nuclear is not the answer! Slow to build, expensive...not the answer.
Sizewell C is responsible for a quarter of the rise in the unit price of electricity from 1 January.

Meanwhile the unit price of gas has *fallen*.

The opposite of what we want!

From 1 Jan ⚡ goes up just over 1p; 0.35p of that is the new nuclear levy. ⚡ will be 27.7p per kWh, up from 26.4p.
