Fam gathering: husband's large brother (3x my size) got pissed bc I said something intelligent, so he sat on me. My husband called him a dipshit. His wife threw a screaming tantrum. My husband had to apologize to *her*. Which one of these 6 phrases works for that? 🤦‍♀️

Child neglect because the parent thinks neglecting their child is the right decision? Still child neglect. 💔
Unbelievable.

Very few things piss me off more than anti-vax morons killing their children.

Huh. Yeah, I take care of myself AND I HAVE STILL HAD MS SINCE I WAS 20 YRS OLD. 💔

Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

Nope. Nope. Nope. 🤢
The women drawn to RFK Jr. see an intoxicating cocktail of romance and danger—whether it's getting attacked by a yak or texting about taking metaphorical bullets for each other.

But to most others, Kennedy is a reckless conspiracy theorist whose appetite for danger will result in a sicker America.
The inexplicable sex appeal of RFK Jr.
How can such ferocious desire be attached to this man? Two memoirs by the women who love him offer some clues.

Note: Americans were already indoctrinated in all of that except that trusting actual evidence over crazy bananapants opinions also used to be part of the deal. 🙄
“Children will be taught to love America. Children will be taught to be patriots. Children will be taught civic values”

Who wants to tell Miller that civic values include caring for your neighbour? Supporting healthcare, housing & education?

Somehow I doubt they’re teaching that.

I had full-blown MS by age 20.

20.

I didn't drink or smoke or use drugs. I didn't sleep around. I had recently pushed my GPA up to a 3.9.

CHRONIC ILLNESS DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU.
BUT PEOPLE SHOULD.💔
There’s nothing wrong with healthy living.

It just won’t prevent disability. It won’t make you bulletproof.

Telling people to “get healthier” if they want to afford healthcare is effectively telling sick people to accept being left to die.

Healthcare for all.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

Oof. I get it. I've been treated like a guinea pig by doctors, and I have a really hard time making myself do what I need to do medically to take care of myself.
I have ptsd from a bad therapist and some other experiences have reinforced that some providers cannot be trusted, and things like this make it really hard to push through and get care when I need it and try to find the good providers who won’t make this worse.

They keep saying that people will shop for insurance instead of giving the money to the insurance companies.

From WHOM will people buy the health insurance (for which they have allegedly negotiated)?

The insurance companies?

BUTT OFF COURSE I am at fault for being chronically ill since about age 20.

Why not tack on the very Christian idea of illness being a sign of one's fall from grace with God? That, after all, was my favorite part of working at a Catholic school.

Now I have to listen to The Pogues.❤️
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

Note: This is not how shopping works.

Cassidy is a doctor. He has to know that this is asinine. 🤨
Cassidy: "If she goes and gets 2 types of shampoo & one is a dollar cheaper, she'll get the cheaper one & the other lowers their price. Once you give her the power of making the decision, she's gonna shop -- that begins to save her money and squeezes waste out of the healthcare system."

Never had anybody say, "Quiet, Piggy" to me, but my brother used to "Sooie! Oink oink oink" when I ate ice cream.

I weighed 118 lbs at the time. 🙄

A boy I had a crush on did that to me once at the public pool, too. I hid in the bathroom and cried until my mom picked me up.

Buncha jerks.

Oh, that wasn't lost on me, either. I'm sure for Trump it was not so deep though--calling someone fat, in what he thinks is a clever way, is a convenient insult for something he sees in front of him.

Deep as a sidewalk puddle. Clever as a straight line. 😑
For me, Trump’s unhinged and savage use of the epithet “Piggy” triggered a middle school memory of reading Lord of the Flies in which a sane, rational, and sickly character named Piggy with whom I identified is murdered by a mob of angry brutalizing boys.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.
November 19, 2025 at 2:06 PM
Trump-->Classic example of the "perpetual 15"--a person who never matured past that age and exhibits all the worst traits of a teen with no filter and few (to no) boundaries.

And in Trump's case, he believes he runs everything. 😳
“Quiet Piggy” is what the murderous mob of angry boys, stripped of the restraints of civility, menacingly says to the person trying to hold on to those norms…right before they gleefully and publicly kill him.
