“But what deeply troubles me now is that for all the steps we've taken toward integration, I've come to believe that we are integrating into a burning house."

Dr. King said this famous quote on March 27th, 1968, mere days before his murder. But the context around the quote is interesting...

ICE murdered a Cuban man at a concentration camp on American soil built and staffed using our tax dollars
🚨WHOA. The El Paso Medical Examiner says it will rule the death of a 55-year-old Cuban man at ICE's "Camp East Montana" tent camp as a homicide.

He was allegedly choked to death by a guard during a "struggle" after he refused to enter a housing unit without his medications.

This is 10th-grader Arnoldo Bazan.

A citizen.

Immigration agents grabbed him and put him in a chokehold.

"We're from the United States bro!' he screamed.

Agents took and sold his phone

And when he finally got home hours later, his shirt was ripped, he neck had angry, red welts, and he sobbed.

There’s so much you can do to support communities under attack! People need groceries, help running errands and keeping their kids safe, financial support… Protestors and rapid responders can use funds, supplies (winter gear, power banks), trainings… Legal orgs need funds, staffing…
I feel like a lot of people assume that resistance exclusively means frontline protest and that is simply not true

They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

Every day is like the parable about the man on the deserted island refusing to be saved by boat, helicopter etc because he's waiting for God's help, but it's about any Democrat with a backbone and an iota of charisma being offered the chance to become the next president by simply describing reality.

The funniest part is that the whole point of funding the crusades was to send your potential sources of domestic political instability (loud, violent lunatics) off on a mission where, worst case scenario, they were out of your hair for several years or, best case scenario, they died.
Far-right groups are co-opting the aesthetics of the Crusades for their own objectives, transforming an obsession with feudal justice into a campaign for a White Christian nation.
Why We Should All Be Worried About "Crusadercore"
This online trend equips young, White men with a historically bastardized visual lexicon — one that gives new credence and religious authority to far-right bigotry.

What are some of your favorite Dad movies? Dad movies aren't only about or for Dads. They're enjoyed by everyone but give off Dad vibes. The kind of movie a middle-aged man will stand and watch. A few good ones have already been mentioned so I'll start a list

Insane opinion of the day: no one should be allowed to bring their partner to the grocery store. The grocery store is for inactionable, harmless flirting. If you come to the store as a couple they should strap you to a chair and make you watch A Woman Under the Influence until you break up
