937 -> 🌍 -> 313. Former wanderer who finally found her way back to the Midwest. Black geriatric millennial, possibly having a midlife crisis. Book, makeup/fragrance, and plant lover. I put the B in the 🌈. Take from all this what you will 🤷🏾‍♀️
Well damn. Someone stopped me on voting day at the polls and asked where I got my maroon tights. I gave her the website but said with tariffs, girl idk.

Working from home. Gloomy, grey and chilly. Sounds of (never ending) construction and trains in the background. And me in my regional state college (that no one outside that region has heard of) zip up, eating a bagel sandwich. Days like this warm my Midwest rustbelt heart 🤣

I'd take it a step further: evangelical christians (and adjacent conservative christians) see any lead they have on groups they don't like, even if marginal or imaginary, as a blessing from god. And they explain away their losses as the price good christians have to pay to see earthly redemption.
one of the big lessons re conservatives and especially conservative christians is that they are more satisfied by being comparatively better off than others rather than being better off in absolute terms.

they’re perfectly happy to lose if you lose more.
There are a lot of conservstives screaming "THIS IS WHAT GOD WANTS" as their lives get measurably worse.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

#SOTD is another layering experiment. This time Akro Awake and Cirrus Maravilla. Basically, black coffee with vanilla extract, and slight citrus. My kind of gourmand. And compliments don’t motivate me but the lady in the elevator this morning told me I smelled amazing 🙌🏾 #perfumesky

7am and my best friend sending me AI videos. When I get home for Xmas, I’m going to her mama house and forcing the entire family to learn how to spot AI and all the reasons they shouldn’t share them. Then I’m beating they ass in uno or spades, and leaving with 2 plates. Sick of it!

#SOTD was a layering experiment:
Akro Dark (dark, dry chocolate) with Yerwa #80 (plum and vanilla). Another fun combo, that I kinda wanna wear again tomorrow…but I have to ration #80 bc they no longer ship to the US bc of the tariffs. Canada is 10mins away, if I can figure out a way to…

I’ve been contemplating this way too long. Agree but would add:

Pitt, Cincy, and STL are that Spider-Man pointing meme.

Cleveland is the poor white man’s Detroit

*What’s odd is Cleveland went from feeling Detroit adjacent to Buffalo adjacent. And I can’t explain that lol
Rustbelt cities: a primer

Baltimore is Baltimore

Detroit is Detroit

Pittsburgh is white Baltimore

Cincinnati is Southern Pittsburgh

Cleveland is the poor man’s Detroit

Buffalo of the poor man’s Cleveland

Milwaukee is Cleveland doing its Chicago impression

The Boycott 1 Boycott 1 Free Deal is the bargain of the season
Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.

Alarm set for 6am, made a workout stack on my peloton app, workout clothes folded on the dresser, and water bottle filled. Let's see if I follow through with my well planned intentions.

This reminds me of a campus interview I had once. Put me up in the new dorm, but the wrong room. My (future) boss and coworker (men) were like oh let us help you move before we head to dinner. I had showered, so bras and drawers in full view. They scooped them up like it was normal. Job: Title IX 🤣
If you are not in academia, you might not know this, but job interviews used to be held at conferences IN HOTEL ROOMS. Women candidates in a hotel room alone with often all-male committees. People sitting on beds! The horror stories I've heard.
I thing I sometimes thing about is that university departments were still doing job interviews in hotel rooms in the mid aughts

Did a presentation on inspiration p*rn at a previous job bc I was sick of this shit. They were so “inspired” by our disabled, “inner-city” (Black), and international students.

Ngl, I be a little jealous over #perfumesky posts about fragrances I want to try, but one of the notes is ambroxan, cashmeran, or iso e. I know they can be unlisted in many fragrances, but if I see it as a note, I know the quantity is high enough to make my nose glitch. No scent or smells metallic 🫤

My problem since moving is that I tell myself Fri/Sat nights that I’m going to get up early and get groceries. Then I see the sun illuminating my patio, next thing I know I’m out there with w/some homemade flavored cappuccino. Then I nap and suddenly it’s 4p. Rain, sleet or snow. Help.

Where did this Veho shipping company come from and why are they so awful? x3 they ignored signs directing them to the street facing, unlocked leasing door 15ft to the left of the locked entry door. Just left it outside and took a picture. Luckily neighbors bring them inside.

#SOTD is an impulse stress blind buy, Andalusian Soul (along w/Rosa Moceniga). While they’re both pleasant scents, glad I got them so cheap. To me, running errands/cozy at home scents. Got enough of those already! Will likely be gifted and I think I’m officially done stress blind buying #perfumesky

I’ve never tried them, but from my observations and what I’ve heard from those who have, wouldn’t shrooms or acid give the same results but with the bonus out of body experience? I’d much rather they do drugs than text with AI white Jesus.

The Seattle mayoral race is wild. My friends there are feeling conflicted, and I get it. I was no fan of Bruce and wish Katie the best, but she is going to have to fight mega corporate politics and the feds...with no previous experience at this level. Godspeed to her.
