Today is the 5 year anniversary to when I slowly started losing my mind during the pandemic and began dressing up as works of art.

As my Twitter account has long been abandoned, why not make a thread of my madness on BlueSky?

This was “The Maid” by Wilhelm August Lebrecht Amberg, from 1862

That isn’t even right though. Norse explorer Leif Erikson landed in North America well before Columbus (in what is now Newfoundland), so if you want to give credit to the first Europeans who “discovered” an already inhabited content, it’s not Columbus!

It’s a federal holiday in the US to celebrate Columbus’ arrival in the Americas (although it was really more of a PR move to stop animosity towards Italians). As children we were taught he “discovered” America but schools tended to gloss over his atrocities and what happened to the Native Americans.

In 1511 my Taíno ancestors were taught that you rise 3 days after death as Jesus did, & while occupied by Spanish colonizers they caught and drowned one. They watched his body for 3 days and when he did not rise they rebelled knowing they were lied to.

Happy Indigenous People's day.

I wouldn’t have been alive if it weren’t for Hitler either. My grandmother ended up in a Nazi work camp and came to the US as a refugee after they were freed, and met my grandfather. I’m certainly not gonna celebrate Hitler’s impact on the world though 😂

Right? THEY came into MY post to lecture me about what I said. I’m not the troll. If they didn’t like what I said, they could have kept scrolling. They choose to be a condescending asshole trying to lecture me on my opinion.

Clearly they are defensive I don’t care about half their life’s work 😂

The founder of Ragu actually proposed to my great grandmother but she turned him down cause she wasn’t in love with him. Maybe the world needs to celebrate her, or he may never have built an empire selling his actual wife’s sauce 😂
