We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.

They can’t be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

Hey Congress, make yourself useful and slap some regulations on the use of our private personal data by third parties… or better yet, these armed thugs.

Both of Nevada's senators--Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen--have officially come out against the DHS funding bill following the execution of Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis this morning. This effectively ends the DHS funding bill in the Senate.

NYT says ICE shot him in the back:

An “agent aims his own firearm at Mr. Pretti’s back and appears to fire one shot at close range… A third agent unholsters a weapon. Both agents appear to fire additional shots into Mr. Pretti as he lies motionless… At least 10 shots appear to have been fired…”

Reporters should be asking congressional Republicans what *other* kinds of Americans they think deserve to be executed in the street by the president's goon squad.

"So you support the murder of a mom and a VA nurse, but what about an Eagle Scout or a kindergarten teacher? How about a priest?"

The official policy of the government of the United States of America is that they will murder anyone they want, that they will tell any lie necessary to justify that murder, and that no one who resists them has any rights they are bound to respect.

DHS is lying again. Alex Pretti was not resisting. He was being held to the ground by multiple agents when he was executed.

His crime? Helping a woman who’d been pushed down by ICE.

All three video angles sync’d and slowed, showing he was unarmed and not resisting: streamable.com/udofq5?src=p...

Not only do ICE get rewards for everyone they detain, the private prisons that house ICE detainees are paid per the number of incarcerated persons, per day.

The incentive structure here couldn’t be more corrupt. Congress has a responsibility to curb ICE’s power, and to make private prisons illegal
ICE agents get a reward for everyone they detain, even if they get it wrong

Who pays for that reward?

The taxpayer.

Who pays to keep immigrants in detention unnecessarily?

The tax payer.

Yet they want you to believe they can’t afford to give you healthcare or food assistance

Giving ICE the benefit of the doubt / presumption of regularity shows Booker’s grave naivety.

Renee Good’s murder was an INTENTIONAL hate crime and abuse of power. 10-year ICE guy, Ross, knew he’d not be held to account.

“Training,” vs. disbanding, a violent, unaccountable paramilitary ain’t it.
"Today I’m taking action to bring accountability to federal law enforcement like the Gestapo. New legislation I’m announcing will require the Gestapo to adopt rigorous training hiring standards, and for their agents to wear body cameras."

So, correct me if I’m wrong, but all you have to do to abduct a woman now is dress in camo, cover your face and have a gun and we have to submit or risk death? How are we supposed to know if you’re ICE or not?

Spotify chose to run ICE ads all of last year, as ICE’s actions became more brutal and more deadly.

The company’s confirmation that it is no longer running ICE recruitment ads does not signal a newfound moral compass.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but even if you fail to “follow orders” you shouldn’t be shot in the head and killed.

People saying Renee Nicole Good should have just “done as she was told” are ignoring the fact that ICE can’t just execute people who don’t do what they say.

You have to go through Congress for anything resembling this type of war. Round up Massie and Paul types and have him removed. The people in this administration are on actual drugs and have insatiable bloodlust and bespoke mental illnesses. He has to go, and everybody with him.

Tonight, the President of the United States has launched an unconstitutional war of aggression, dooming another generation to spill their blood for oil, and lay waste to a sovereign nation.

I demand that Congress exercise its power, halt this conflict, and impeach this war criminal president.

Isn’t it odd that when a member of an immigrant ethnic group commits a crime, right-wing white guys want to deport the entire group, but when a right-wing white guy commits a crime, the other right-wing white guys don’t volunteer to deport themselves.

I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Another question that belongs in the same conversation:

Why would anyone intentionally create or entrench conditions where others live in a state of desperation?

Those who benefit from exploiting others need a ready supply of desperate people to exploit.
Why is this regime so hell-bent on destroying social science broadly, and Sociology specifically?

Social science measures, categorizes, validates, and describes interactions btwn groups, individuals, institutions…

as well as the manipulations bad actors use to accomplish unpopular goals at scale.
Wow. Harvard nuking its PhD programs

- Science PhD admissions reduced by more than 75%
- Arts & Humanities reduced by about 60%
- Social Sciences by 50–70%
- History by 60%
- Biology by 75%
- The German department will lose all PhD seats
- Sociology from six PhD students to zero

Trump wags the dog. They’re so abysmally corrupt, predictable, and boring. Congress needs to do its job and impeach before more innocent people die.
I’m extremely concerned by reports the Trump administration destroyed a facility during a covert action in Venezuela.

If this was done without Gang of Eight oversight, it’s a serious violation of federal law and a dangerous escalation that pushes us closer to war: www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...
Trump says the U.S. took out a 'big facility' in Venezuela amid strikes on alleged drug boats
The president did not provide details about the apparent strike, which NBC News has not independently confirmed.

I hastily cancelled my 15-year long Spotify premium subscription in October, horrified by what I learned they were doing with my money. Made the switch to Qobuz yesterday. Seamless transition. Familiar interface. They have all my music (unlike Tidal). Thrilled to have the soundtrack to my life back!
