I still suspect George Clooney crashed out and became a fascist puppet because his ego couldn't handle Biden making a joke about not recognizing him.

I appreciate that CBS sports doesn't run a ticker, just the rotating score bug in the top left corner. Way less distracting and keeps the focus on the field and not the gambling odds.

"Football is hard."

Honestly, that's good commentary. People constantly forget that.

I'll die on the hill that removing the minimap and adding the weird eagle thing in Assassin's Creed Origins was just a way to make gameplay harder rather than better. And the last true Assassin's Creed was Syndicate.

The strong floor is so they don't have to hear the anguish of the folks in the basement turning their ceiling fans.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

This is misleading, as are many surveys.

A yes to "political violence may be necessary" indicates a person doubts a peaceful transition away from fascism will happen. Not that they want political violence to occur.

Recognizing something may be necessary isn't supporting that something.
➡️ Support for political violence by participants at the No Kings Day 2.0 demonstration (almost all of whom voted for Harris in 2024) is much lower than the first No Kings Day 1.0 in June 2025 and is lower than the overall support by Left-leaning Americans.

Execs ain't the brightest bulbs. And they're the ones most insulated from the repercussions of attaching their names to slop.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Disruptive non-violent protests work.
Confirmed: Earlier this morning a photog overheard agents inside the parking garage say “dismissed,” believed to be calling off their planned mass raid.

A source tells me they had planned for *hundreds* of agents to flood Canal St. They got flooded instead.

I wish marketing and advertising folks understood this as well. Even if people don't understand that it's procedurally generated slop it triggers "eww gross" feelings.
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Ain't no reason NYPD has to go to bat for DHS (ICE/CBP) here. Last I checked local cops ain't hired security for the feds. And there aren't any laws being broken. Sidewalks are for pedestrians, and cars always gotta yield coming out of garages.
Moments ago, feds shove protesters out of the way as more NYPD officers arrive on scene. reporting for @thecity.nyc

This one is gonna anger a lot of EU fans.
29. The Thrawn trilogy is not anywhere close to as good as you remember. But it did come at a time where there was nothing else really going on in Star Wars, and opened up the possibilities of what a Star Wars story could be.

They would make terrible movies.

Pecan Pie's agent must've sent him a text while Apple's coach hit him up.
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

Under Biden we were seeing a revival of anti-trust and pro-consumer regulations. Harris was expected to continue those policies. So naturally the corporate Dems (along with Knee-jerk anti-institutionalist "Leftists") turned on them.

This is awful news.
RealPage allegedly helped landlords price-fix and jack up the cost of rent.

Instead of cracking down, Trump's Justice Department struck a “deal” that lets them continue to rip off renters.

Is that the art of the deal or a sham? RealPage called it "an endorsement."
Justice Department to Settle Lawsuit Over Apartment Rental Pricing
The case had alleged that RealPage’s software allowed landlords to unfairly coordinate prices.

Only an MBA would tell employees to ignore the risk of being discredited for using a plagiarism machine.

"AI-apprehensive" is also some remarkable language. Making it the employee's responsibility to accept new norms rather than management's to convince them.

The EU still lives on my bookshelves and is a delightful escape from reality with various stories and excitement.

Plus my collection isn't complete; gotta get those YA and middle grade series finished!
Question: Why are you still a Star Wars fan to this day?
