Awareness campaigns like this work, I knew to call 999 when my husband showed signs of a stroke. Because we got him to hospital within an hour he recovered with only minimal loss in one hand - it could have been much worse.
Sharing this - the symptoms of stroke. Someone important to me didn't recognise loss of speech as a sign, to their cost, upsettingly so.
Know the signs: F. A. S. T.
Dropped side of the FACE
Inability to raise both ARMS
SPEECH slurred or impossible
Act FAST, call an ambulance

They are very weird people, and it will be their downfall.

Performative religious nationalism might work in America, but most British people - including most Christians - think it's weird.
Charlie Downes (Restore Britain, campaign director): "More than anything, it is Christian faith. Ancestry and it is Christian faith"

Alex Phillips: "So if you are not a Christian, you can't be British?"

CD: "Well. You are certainly less British if you are not a believer in Christian principles".

Brilliant
and you won't be able to see that that's what's happening.

the park should not be full of broken glass.
you can't just ban children from the play area and call the problem solved.
1) they now have no play area
2) everyone else is still getting cut to ribbons

A post comparing the amount spent on supporting asylum seekers with the amount lost to benefit fraud and tax avoidance has been recirculating on Facebook, several years after it first emerged.

The figures referenced in the post are inaccurate.

The UK was declared measles free in 2017.

Vaccine programs completely eliminated it.

Since then, pro sickness conspiracy theorists and anti science idiots have enabled its return.
“Seven schools and a nursery have reported more than 60 suspected cases of measles in an area of north London, and labs have confirmed 34 cases since January 12. Some children have been treated in hospital.”

Scotland’s Story

Nigel Farage says 1 million people in Britain don’t speak English. The Census says otherwise.

The number of people across these islands who do not speak English is around 190,000.

Yet again, Farage is caught lying.

The wonderful thing about Tyggers
Is Tyggers are burning bright
Their tops are made out of rubber
In the forest of the night

What bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Immortal hand or eye
Did frame the most wonderful thing about Tyggers,
Their fearful symmetry!

A reminder that if you live in England or Wales & were born between 1970-1990 – or even before 1970 – you can help protect your community by getting the MMR vaccine free from your NHS GP now. I did last year. www.nhs.uk/vaccinations...

We are living in a world where we have safe and effective vaccines against some of the most detrimental diseases in history.

And yet people choose not to give them to their children and protect them and others.

Measles could have been eradicated by now.
A reminder that measles cannot be treated, it can only be prevented.

It is one of the most contagious diseases in the world and can cause blindness, deafness and life-threatening lung and brain infections.

I've seen off Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and Sunak and I'm still going strong.

I regret to inform you that I have gone further down the terrible rabbit hole that is Elsie the Cow.

If you squint at enough eBay listings trying to read the words, you find a saga of a marriage gone mad.
This morning, I got distracted while eating cheese because I remembered that the laughing cow is named Elsie and is married to Elmer the cow on the glue labels. To doublecheck that I hadn’t hallucinated that, I looked it up and fell down a dark internet rabbit hole.

When Labour came to power in 1997, a staggering 283,866 people were waiting 6 months or more for an operation.

By 2007 the number was down to 199.

Just one astonishing fact I came across while recording this and it's a reminder that government really can change things - for the better.
As the rat infested Palace of Westminster literally sinks into the mud, there's talk that British parliamentary democracy might follow suit.

🤔You want your government to be popular?

💡Why not try doing something that's popular with the public.

Most of us want to see public ownership across a range of public services.

It was true at the last general election. It's true now.
