This is just how the rules work. If an aid flotilla approached occupied Mariupol we would not be asking questions about whether the Russians get to say no to its entrance. To be sure, they would say no, but we wouldn't recognise that as legitimate.

I keep trying to spend time on Bluesky. Even this morning, as I am tracking the flotilla, there’s nothing in my feed about Gaza. I check “friends” & “interest” but nothing. Loads over on Twitter. I imported the people I followed over here & interact whenever I do find a post abt Gaza. Still nada.

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.

<p>It added the deaths were also reported near humanitarian convoys run by other relief groups, including the UN.</p>
<p>“Up until the seventh of July, we’ve recorded now 798 killings, including 615 in the vicinity of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sites, and 183 presumably on the route of aid convoys,” OHCHR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani told reporters in Geneva.</p>

Man, I've worked on visas for Iranians who have suffered persecution and even imprisonment for their political speech or even just books they've written and I'm pretty sure they don't want their country bombed to shit.

I hope it’s obvious to the folks here, but the argument that women are treated poorly in Iran (which they are) therefore we have no choice but to kill them in an effort to free them is, frankly, as ridiculous as it sounds. No one saying that actually cares about Iranians.
