This is gonna seem like a nitpick, but I think it's significant: It's not a professor, it's a graduate TA.
Thinking back on my time as a TA thirty years ago, universities use TAs as cannon fodder, asking them to hold certain rigorous lines but reliably failing to support them.

The Trump administration believes that the rich and powerful should be pardoned for their crimes, even after judges and juries determined their guilt.

I know you already know, but for other folks who don't, Goldsmith was previously head of OLC, is a genuinely brilliant mind on executive authority and separation of powers, and is usually very cautious about making claims this unqualified and direct. That he is saying it so starkly is v significant

Either Northwestern was not previously providing the care they thought was in the best interest of children or they have agreed to stop providing the best care when faced with extortion. The behavior is shameful and unfit for a university or a medical provider.
