we mocked the idea of “unregretted user seconds” but I gotta say it’s been a useful metric. I experience no unregretted user seconds on twitter anymore & I remember that now whenever I start to click over. if social media is a dopamine lever then realizing there is no more dopamine somewhere helps.

Happy 25th anniversary to Y2K not wrecking the world and causing a lot of people to assume that the lack of a disaster meant that all the advance mitigation we did to prevent chaos was a waste of time and therefore we should never again come together as a society to collectively work for the better
