In all seriousness, it's just a Pioneer LD on an S-video hookup into a RetroTink 4K, recorded on a (sadly discontinued) Elgato 4K deck that lets you capture video directly without needing a computer connection

In case you’ve ever wondered what kind of audience the Laserdisc medium was marketed to, consider that Pioneer’s U.S. releases of the Armitage III anime had fully English-language packaging EXCEPT for the spines, which printed the titles in katakana

This was the actual first DVD I ever owned. Had to go out and buy a player to watch it, and the discs didn't even work reliably (when I contacted Animeigo customer service for advice, they said "sorry, that's brand-new tech for ya." Thanks, customer service!)
