it's very funny that humans' co-equal closest relatives are two species that live in the same place but on opposite sides of the river, with one being a violent patriarchal society of tactical operators and the other being a matriarchal hippie society of empaths who fuck constantly

Fire Harbaugh before he gets on the plane. Every year it's the same thing. He won a Super Bowl on a complete fluke 13 years ago and has been a loser ever since. The team is cursed and will only be fixed when he is removed from the team.

the economic success of the U.S. is significantly built on the land grant universities and in particular their excellent agricultural science tradition.
Really important to stress that the Crown Jewels of the US higher education system were never the Ivies or elite SLACs (other countries have equivalents of these) but the well-funded, large, cheap, and excellently staffed public state university systems bringing high quality education to the masses.
One of the bragging rights that the US ed system had in the 20th century is that we didn't have education tracks. Essentially, any kid could go to a CC or state school & major in whatever they wanted to (obviously an oversimplification). I fear this aspect of the American dream is dying.

The Jets are such a weird franchise. Not only do they have no identity at all, and no immediately memorable highlights other than Super Bowl 3, they really don't even have any notable players. It's like Joe Namath, Curtis Martin, and ???

so many people thought they were taking the temperature of America when they were actually marinating their brain in an artificially constructed fake reality on their phones
Let’s see if one single pundit who said there was some great realignment of American sentiment with this last election, based on what they saw on the Nazi-owned platform overrun by foreign actors, offers any retractions or corrections for their gullibility.
It’s hilarious and revelatory that a bunch of giant MAGA/America First X accounts are actually based in Eastern Europe and Nigeria.

Listened to @ositanwanevu.com's book The Right of the People: Democracy and the Case for a New American Founding yesterday. Particularly enjoyed the part about how Reynolds v. Sims (1964) makes it illegal for state senates to be modeled after the US Senate because even SCOTUS knew the Senate is bad

In general the whole Gen X idea that you are supposed to not listen to particular genres of music because it's not Your Scene/you have generational antagonism toward the people who made it is very silly to me. With any artistic medium, one should have as robust a palate as feasible.
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.

But also Jim
I watched a few episodes recently. Jenna Fischer did such a good job of playing the part—a miserable receptionist who has bigger dreams. The facial expressions during the uncomfortable convos with Michael. So easy to feel deeply bad for her for having an incompetent boss and shitty bf (before Jim).

Wu playing piano with Yo-Yo Ma, Mamdani is Young Cardamom. I think this means Brandon Scott has to learn how to play Through the Fire and Flames on an Ibanez if he doesn't want to fall off
An honor and dream come true to perform alongside Yo-Yo Ma, presented by Celebrity Series at Boston Symphony Hall. 💜
