I told my mom I "cheat" and buy kits if we are going to make gingerbread houses. She then explained in great detail the supplies I would need. I used to own a cake business and *have* the supplies and the skills--that's why I think of it as cheating!

Only just saw this while looking for something else, and otherwise wouldn't have discovered, but apparently a batch of Freestyle Libre 3 and 3+ sensors have been giving faulty readings. If you use them, you can check if your current sensor is a faulty one by entering the serial number here.

If you are raising a teenager who is learning to do laundry, I recommend checking their process. My teen has not been using detergent, just laundry sanitizer--which I only have on hand for illness. I can't blame him ... look how "easy" it is to figure out the difference!

one of my most oddball views as an engineer prof is that it's okay to think that the way people build or use a technology is bad, even if the details of the tech are pretty cool, and it's also okay (good, even!) to opt out of using or contributing to harmful tech
