I think every Godzilla movie that has Mothra in it should be classified as a musical, since Mothra won’t get out of bed without a whole song-and-dance routine.

Can I brag about my students a bit? For my Female Filmmakers class 60 students chose a filmmaker & either created a new Wikipedia page or expanded an existing page. They knocked it out of the park! Lots of great new info! Lots of non-English sources translated! Great insights abt filmmaking! 😊

The older I get I question the theatre's ability to influence electoral politics - in the West, anyway - but it's maybe the best way to influence people. Passion is no substitute for skill. You need both - & it's a lot harder than it sounds, because skill smooths edges..

I'm looking forward to this tomorrow (online and in-person in NYC): Ben Model and his wife, Manna Allen, and other silent film historians and colleagues helped me get through the early months of COVID-19 when they hosted Sunday screenings and talks.

I'm super stressed right now so here's a recent favourite landscape from a few months ago again - Dunvegan in Alberta, Canada. This aerial embroidery took forever but was worth it 💚 the higher up perspective is more intricate and slower to sew I've found, more fiddly! #art

The defense team presses Lairmore on whether the sandwich really 'exploded.' They return to the photo of the sandwich and wrapper on the ground.

"That sandwich hasn't exploded at all, has it?" defense asks.

"It looks like a little bit is coming out towards the bottom," Lairmore replies.

This is ugly. But the reason this lady was protesting is even worse. ICE thugs detained two children and their father on their way to school. One child appears to have been beaten in detention, and no one seems to know where the 12-year-old girl is right now. The family had been seeking asylum.

The Scam Goddess episodes on Shaun King are required listening.
Still can't get over the time Shaun King fundraised to climb the 14 highest peaks in the world and then came to WA state to get a practice run on a hill before he left for Everest or wherever and gave up after a 45 min hike on the main trail because it was too difficult

I feel like I have discovered the greatest thing: since I don't like to read hardcover, I generally wait a long time for books to come out in paperback; but wait no more! The large print versions come out simultaneously and they're paperback. Bonus: nice and easy on the eyes. Living my best life.
