Something I like reading are various fantasy things and it dawned on me that a lot of mages end up being summoners or necromancers in webnovel type works so they don't have to have a party to balance around so they can be a conduit for power fantasy over being a character.

Just as the US military tries to run wars that don't "inconvenience" US citizens, could you imagine a civil war that tries to be minimally noticeable to "regular" (white, upper middle class, etc) Americans?
Red and Blue America the minute they realize that a civil war means that the flow of treats would be disrupted
