Holy cow there's a lot of new people!

Howdy, I'm Ethan!👋 I make indie games and such in the #godotengine and occasionally partake in some art and music creation 😁

I released my first commercial project Wander Vyrosa on Steam in 2023 (below)

Finally got #jellyfin properly set up on my homelab server and running well. Went on a music search on Bandcamp and gotta say- it feels great to be in control of the music I love while supporting the awesome artists at the same time 😊

I'll be the fun police.

Don't play Arc Raiders. Do better. Play a game with real voice acting.
Not to be the fun police but I do hope people know that Arc Raiders does use generative AI for voice acting, and by supporting the game you're letting higher-ups know that this is an okay practice.

They try to downplay this on the Steam store page by describing the AI usage as vaguely as possible.

My first asset pack is finally out and it's completely free!

It's nothing too crazy, but I hope that you have a lot of fun with it if you end up using it :)

Art friends: Here's a tip for getting rid of *a lot* of the AI slop in your Pinterest feed.

⭐Go into your account settings.
⭐Click the "Refine your recommendations" tab.
⭐Click the GenAI Interests subtab.
⭐TURN OFF EVERYTHING.

So far, my feed is *significantly* cleaner.

How have I never found this awesome tool before?? (Raylib is awesome as well, but I already have fun using that 😜)

Of course I had to rush home after work and build LibreCounter into my website. It took all of five minutes and does exactly what I need it too. Would highly recommend 😁
Finally implemented a simple, easy-to-use, FOSS and GDPR-compliant visits-counter for raylib website! And it's getting 5000-6000 visits per day!!! 🤯

Many thanks to Alex for librecounter, an amazing tool! ❤️
There's a new champion in librecounter.org, and it's Raylib by @raysan5.bsky.social ! More than double the previous top contender. Not only is it a free libre open source library, the project is led by the awesome Ramón Santamaría from Barcelona. Congrats!

Cozy aesthetic that hides something a little darker? Check out Truckful. Drive a truck full of stuff and don't let anything spill out. But what's that in the woods??? 👁️👁️

Truckful on Steam
Drive your pickup truck through seemingly peaceful countryside valleys, deliver much-needed goods to local townsfolk and unravel the small town mystery. Beware, the old forest is watching.

Apparently godot engine contribution docs are now their own site. It's pretty thorough and beginner friendly, can recommend if you wanna help make the engine better for everyone

Why did I never realize that you can create a Button node as a child of a Node2D and have it work completely fine for dragging?? 🤩

Also had to pull out the dampened springs for testing, and it didn't disappoint.

Working hard on Wild Cosmos, and getting closer to the end.

I want this small world to feel alive and vibrant.

I'm a single person behind this project and if that's the kind of games you like, sharing it and wishlisting helps me greatly.

Blender productivity tip: instead of using workspaces you can just switch the panel type, it support accelerator keys:

Click + S = Shader Editor
Click + G = Geonodes
Click + C = Compositor
Click + A = Asset browser
Click + F = File browser
Click + 3 = UV editor

etc, look at underlined letters

I'm not making a game to appeal to a wide audience, or for as many possible people to play it.

I'm making a game for a handful of people to love it to pieces.

I'd rather make something that one person loves with all their heart than something a thousand people think is okay.

Tired of manually matching collision to a mesh in #GodotEngine? Or constantly creating new nodes with the built-in collision generation feature? I made an addon that automatically syncs collision with meshes, with lots of neat features. Grab it here: github.com/CozyCubeGame...

I decided to learn Golang since I didn't want to write a custom Discord bot in Javascript.

It was definitely an adjustment, but I honestly enjoyed writing the application. Threads were super lightweight, and I had an HTTP client in <20 lines of code. 😎

JSON was kinda a pain to deal with though 😕
