Why did I never realize that you can create a Button node as a child of a Node2D and have it work completely fine for dragging?? 🤩
Also had to pull out the dampened springs for testing, and it didn't disappoint.

This week I worked on adding a day changer and scene switcher to a little adventure game prototype I'm starting. It's really nice how easy it is to change scenes in Godot 4 (literally a single line of code 😍)

The task this past week was implementing the ship stats system! It took a bit of thought, but the new system will make it super easy to apply parts to the players' ship.
As a test of the system, I added energy usage when mining with the laser (refilled with an energy cell)🔋

Worked on adding some pickup text (setup for translations) this week and adding some player feedback when a tile is broken. Also got a mockup of a HUD UI in, but nothing is functional yet.

Was messing around with some marching squares and a distance curve and accidentally made some cool patterns! Maybe I'll turn this into something someday.. 🤔

After the addition of a final construct, we *finally* have automated harvesting! This will probably be the players first introduction to the automation, with the ability to automate replanting and watering being introduced with the bots unlocked later on.

The task (heh) this week was adding a player quest/task system! This will most likely serve as the main progression system and way to unlock new automation tech, similar to games like Factorio and Satisfactory.

Got a (very basic) market UI working! Players can now sell the crops they grow and purchase new ones! Also dug up a 2D spring library I created to add a bit of juice to the item hovers 😎
