Hi, neurodivergent queer artist, 21+, finally made one of these after being off Twitter for over a year. Figured I should probably be aware of what’s happening in the world.

This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny
It occurs to me all the yelling at ICE in MPLS isn't merely funny. Getting made fun of like this is awful for morale. ICE is losing field officers faster than it can wave them through training, and a big part of it is how little of this these little weasels can take.

ERIC ADAMS RUG PULL EVERYBODY GET IN HERE
Eric Adams, former NYC mayor, launched a memecoin (cryptocurrency) today. He marketed it as an “NYC Token” and used media appearances and his social media to promote it.

Within hours, Adams then drained its liquidity, apparently having scammed investors out of $3.4 million—a move called a rug pull.

People heard that the DEICER app was removed from the app stores a few months ago.

It was removed, but it’s not gone!

You can't get it in app stores, but you can download a web app that works on both platforms here. deicer.org

It seems important, with the recent escalation, to share information!

Democrats need to realize ICE isn’t just—or even primarily—a mass deportation force.

ICE is also Trump’s most loyal internal security force which will be used to attack regime opponents and try to steal the election. They should defund his authoritarian capabilities.

This poll shows that 74% of Democrats support abolishing ICE, with 53% *strongly* supporting getting rid of the agency.

Any elected Democrat who wants ICE to exist is outside the mainstream of their party and the people they purport to represent.

NEW: GoFundMe's rules forbid fundraisers tied to legal funds for violent crimes. One for the ICE agent who killed Renee Good, currently nearing $500K, changed the language in its description after @wired.com reached out (but not in the images at the top of the page, oops) @dell.bsky.social reports:

The fundraiser for the ICE agent in the Renee Good killing has stayed online in seeming breach of GoFundMe’s own terms of service, prompting questions about selective enforcement.

NEW: GoFundMe strictly bans fundraisers for “the legal defense of financial and violent crimes,” yet is currently running one “to help pay for any legal services” for the ICE agent who killed Renee Nicole Good. Its conflict is not even the least bit contestable.

Reminder for Mpls & beyond:

"Say Her Name" is reserved for Black women specifically due to the erasure of Black women's lives & deaths & stories.

It's been delightful to see the play on Renee Nicole's last name "She was Good" etc

If trying to lead a chant, maybe:
"Who was she?"
"She was Good!"

Renee being a lesbian matters not only in terms of, come on guys, the guy who shot her saw her wife and called her a fucking bitch after he shot her, we would call that a hate crime if it wasnt ICE, but also in terms of the way the right immediately moved to unperson her/designate her as degenerate

Blue state politicians with presidential hopes are limp on ICE because they’re already trying to appeal to the center. They don’t realize confronting ICE is the centrist position.

In addition to being morally right, it’s a national name-recognition strategy there for the taking.

Also of note for casinos and other resort hotels this is twice as effective as the numbers are being watched like a hawk by corporate & night auditors have to turn in numbers nightly.

Entertainment corporate does not care about scoring points with law enforcement like local VPs may. They want money
How to mess with hotels that rent rooms to ICE:

1. Get 20 friends to each book a couple of rooms. Importantly, do this by phone with a fake name and no card down (you'll "pay when you arrive").

2. No show or last-minute cancelation.

3. ????

4. No profit. Call them in the AM and tell em why.
It's worth your time to call Hilton to cancel your account with them. 1-800-446-6677. Here's why:

They asked me if it was because of the ICE thing. I said it was. Then they suggested I wait a couple days to see if they were going to change course.

The pressure is getting to them. Let's keep it up.

the only reason "abolish ICE" is seen as radical is that no one will say it but the far left. if every normie Democrat started saying it tomorrow it would move the overton window so far you'd have to squint to find it. my kingdom for leaders who understand they can shape public opinion.
Democrats officially going all in on the mealy mouthed “ICE needs training” narrative.

No. ABOLISH ICE.
WARNER: It used to take 5 to 6 months to get trained. They've now lowered the training period to 47 days. Why 47 days? Because Donald Trump's the 47th president. Tell me that's a rational approach

KERNEN: I'm not taking that bait

The national media, the ADL, corporate leaders, etc. are not revisiting their decisions about Musk now afaict. Musk is just allowed to be a very public Nazi accelerationist as well as a CSAM publisher without any mainstream scrutiny.
Every week is overwhelming evidence of what we saw with our own eyes, but which our credulous media was afraid to print: the Nazi salute was a Nazi salute
Yesterday Elon Musk retweeted "white solidarity is the only way to survive". In our numb overwhelmed media environment it barely made headlines that the world's richest man endorsed blood-curdling white nationalism. My brief writeup for @religiondispatches.org

this is not a party gearing up to even pare back funding, let alone abolish ICE. I cannot stress enough that it'd be cleaner and easier to just get rid of every last one of them via primary than try to figure out which is worth saving
