I have opinions and know stuff. Minneapolis enby witch with a pain disorder and cat. Part of the local sky cult. In my previous life I was a forensic psychologist, re: child sexual abuse. Now I garden and spread love to counteract my inner angst.

Anyone recognize this dog? My neighbor is watching him until his owners are found. Pit mix, male, pretty sizable, good at greeting and friendly behaviors and VERY SWEET. No tag, no chip. Surely his family yearns for him. Found in the Standish-Ericson neighborhood in Minneapolis, near Lake Hiawatha.

About to run to the store unshowered and in my pajamas. It's winter, so I'll be in my calf-length parka and dumbo hat. Nobody will know the difference.

Be free, everyone!

Okay, of all the things I read this year, I've recommended this the most. Husband saw her read by chance at the end of last year so I got to read it this year, and my goodness. The best.

The second book comes out in January. So excited.

Narrator: it did not.

Did you know that you can't save everyone?

JFC I wish I could.
I had a really good day at work yesterday despite all the figurative fires and literal floods and real crazy folks I had to bring back to reality. I was super proud of me.

Please good today again, brain!

I had a professor 25 years ago that let us have open book tests and notes. You know why? Because in the real world we get to look stuff up. And we get to consult colleagues. Wtaf. Yeah sure, we should know HOW to look stuff up, and know basically what there is to find? But my god people. Chill.
as a college professor who has to deal with accommodations every semester: who gives a fuck. it's fine. cheesus fuck, let the kids have an extra 30 minutes on an hour long test, literally what in the world does it fucking matter.

get real problems, cheesus fuck

Kids these days will do anything 😅
It finally happened - despite many warnings not to, my kid got his tongue stuck to a metal pole at the bus stop.

The sounds of people chiseling the ice off their vehicles has been ringing throughout the neighborhood for HOURS.

Where is everyone going? Stay home. It's warmer.

I'm sorry you have to go somewhere.

I had a Lite Brite and used it well into my 20s. We still have Mouse Trap prominently displayed on our game shelf, and my 17yo still sets it up every Christmas.

Thank you for the generations and decades of creative enjoyment.
this week inventor burt meyer died at age 99. he invented lite brite, rock ‘em sock ‘em robots, and mouse trap, a trifecta of my favorite childhood toys

My friend needed a ride to dinner. He gives me the address, it's my neighborhood, cool. So we get in, and I start driving and hear the Google Maps lady say "take a left on Lyndale."

I've lived here 20 years, man, I don't need directions. 😂

And I lost my seat to this guy. Insult to injury.

Haha I just did. So odious. "Just making sure to neg on your perfectly positive post!" Dang BlueSky 😅 wasn't my post, but I'm not about to run into them anywhere else.

No thank you.
Hey, you. Yes, you!

Have you blocked an odious account yet today?

If not, please change that.

If yes, why not do one more as a treat?

I don't think getting rid of THC drinks is going to stop breweries from closing. People are not drinking like they used to because they know what it does to your whole damn life if you do.

A beer is fine. But to drink the way I did isn't sustainable, and that's what kept breweries in business.

I've been following this because I can't help myself (old habits die hard).

This coach disappeared last Thursday - and an assistant coach at the same school was convicted in '23 of CSA with a minor.

My friend has been fairly unconscious the majority of the time he's been here. I told him not to worry, I have that effect on people. I encourage it, even.

And it's true. People come to visit and relax pretty hard. I pride myself on a peaceful home.

The spirits are happy here.

"This aligns with decades of prior and subsequent research... which strongly suggests that our behavior is more likely to shape our beliefs than the inverse.

In other words, when we act generously, we unconsciously convince ourselves that we must care for the recipient in some way or another."
