I sent this to a friend in Perth but he hasn't responded, maybe he's just too excited to go to the aquarium?

From the FT's Polymath crossword, this is not just a clue, but Apple's only marketing of a show that, now I look it up, could have been designed to appeal to me if only I knew of it. And I've had Apple TV for two years

A luxury tax isn't going to save us either. Thread below ignores cars but I could mention too that Britain's car industry is not cheap cars.

I’m just back from Ukraine for the third time. As ever so struck and in awe of the bravery, resilience & sense of humour of the people I met. The rallying around to build new organisations and initiatives that save lives and rescue victims of war. The decision to make art, music - to find joy.

This is going to have even more really thoughtful and intelligent replies as time passes, I can tell
If I asked you which country has the most progressive tax system in the developed world — where high earners hand over an especially large share of their income relative to the average worker — what would your answer be?

The answer is in fact Britain. on.ft.com/4a5jIFc

Raising the personal allowance really was an amazing middle class giveaway disguised as concern about low wages.
Also, if we want to measure the economic consequences of Osborne, the period should end earlier than 24-25. A lot has happened since 2019 that isn't 'austerity' in the narrow sense.

Yet another reason to stick to our hard and fast family rule of never going up in aircraft piloted by amateurs.
In my college (late 1990s) there was a staff member known for taking attractive male undergrads up in his private plane and fondling their thighs mid-flight. But a few other colleges had fellows known for going after female undergrads.
Some gay male classmates reported similar harassment from gay professors. One or two women reported harassment from female teachers. But man -- I simply cannot believe -- and am ashamed I did not know at the time -- what my friends and classmates were enduring.

Strongly considering something drastic: no new clothes until my holiday to Australia next April, to have much nicer flights.

If only overrated genocide denier Noam Chomsky had stuck to his decades long practice of regularly and repeatedly denying genocides as they happened purely on the basis of a Campist mentality, and not wasted time hanging around with rich nonces, his reputation wouldn’t be suffering as much now.
MIT's famous linguistic professor Noam Chomsky was in regular and close contact with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, according to a review of emails published by the U.S. House Oversight Committee. In the documents, Chomsky described Epstein as a "highly valued friend."

I can reveal London’s giant AI generated Christmas artwork, the subject of much online mockery, is being torn down - and I honestly *genuinely* think you’ll never guess why. www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...

The bizarre story of why a much-talked-about creation is being torn down. Plus: Docklands Light Railway extension, giant laser stalks the night sky, and more tales of Android phone theft rejection.

The UK needs either sustained tax rises on the middle classes to European levels or to accept a US model where public services don't exist. The billionaires are a fairytale to avoid hard choices. Labour are fucked because they dodged this one. This isn't a great sign for the other left option.
At the Budget, the Green Party's message is clear: Cut Bills. Tax Billionaires.
