I think this is important, and should be shared widely.
With my professional Academic Editor hat on, the appropriate editorial response is to inform Reviewer Two that their services will no longer be required on this or any other paper, as they are incapable of interpreting plain meanings correctly.
So, a reviewer in Germany wrote to an editor, about a draft of mine. I wrote that "Italians and Russians died from chemical attacks in WW1 more readily than French, Germans, or Brits, because they were not as well equipped with useful gas masks". This got flagged for "racial or ethnic bias". FFS
