Oh yeah. Dark colours, low light, AND they're all in the real-looking world while still acting like MC-1. In fact, they're generally worse than MC-1, they're like what a real person who was acting like a MC-1 Judge in real life would be: not funny, just violent and scary

I did keep thinking "...wait, what??" every time I heard of it. Among other things, surely there must be mutants other than a few X-Men who have human partners, so none of them can come in unless they break up?? (Though then it got changed for the Kingpin???)

the early Judges in Dreadnoughts manage to be terrifying and violent _even by Dredd standards_. You don't want to see these guys coming. They're a nightmare in black leather and kevlar.

Pencil drawing of wolverine. Heavy pencil shading. Slobbery mouth. Claws popped.

It'd be quite satisfying if it was someone else and Farage didn't see it coming & has a face like a smacked bum at the 2029 exit poll

That's likely gone up nationally as there's been a number of Bully XL shootings but that's when the dogs are attacking people, usually regular people, and that's why the police are there

if I did that with my own stuff, I'd end up doing tropes of stuff-I-just-do-a-lot and I'm not sure that's a workable marketing move. "CONTAINS: Esoteric Comic History References But Alternate History" "Uh, okay."

i really hate when we talk about books like they're shopping lists of tropes

"Conservative party is now essentially one that only appeals to wealthy retirees. The animating energy, purpose and drive for a viable centre-right has to come from people who wish to become wealthy retirees... in other words, people who, for the most part, think that Brexit was a bad idea".

Halloween Radio: THE STONE TAPE (BBC 4, 2015)
Filmmaker Peter Strickland (Berberian Sound Studio) adapts the Nigel Kneale-scripted TV movie as a radio play. Features music from James Cargill of the band Broadcast and is in binaural sound (???) and is apparently best listened to w/headphones. Creepy.

An important comiccon moment for me was waiting in a long-ass line for the official artist alley men’s room. It only had one urinal. The line snaked through a janitorial closet with a big yellow mop bucket. I could tell that every dude there was looking down at it and thinking “hmmm”

I remember "ah but Ozymandias was RIGHT and saved the world" being a thing people said in the 2000s online, even though the book yells "HE'S THE GUY FROM THE BLACK FREIGHTER WHO KILLED HIS FAMILY OUT OF PARANOIA"
