The idea of wilderness is a human construct (growing out of a colonial mindset) & is not that closely related to what we might term very high quality wildlife habitat. Almost all very high quality wildlife habitat around the world has been modified by human activity over thousands of years.
This sounds noble and obvious but it’s usually wrong. Agroecology can make farms, which are not very biodiverse, marginally more biodiverse, but it often leads to the expansion of farmland and the destruction of wilderness, which is very biodiverse.

REMINDER: Those choosing to live in subsidized suburbs for a bigger house and yard are NOT also entitled to free-flow car traffic capacity (aka an “easy car commute”) into the city at the expense of the taxes, health, safety (hint: bike-lanes) & quality of life of city-dwellers.

The first known use of singular “they” is so old that not only does it pre-date singular “you,” it wasn’t even spelled with a “th”

When William and the Werewolf, in 1375 CE, used singular “they,” it was spelled with a Thorn

Today my eight year old was cheering and jumping up and down upstairs, so I went to see what he was watching on youtube and it was a video showing the GDP of countries growing over time. I asked him why he found it so exciting — he put two fingers on my chest and said “that’s none of your business.”

All things considered, I'd much rather experience the hatred from living as my true self, boldly and proudly, than continue feeling the crushing weight of nothingness I had from erasing myself and hiding for most of my life.
