One of the rad-est things that has ever happened is Motoi Sakuraba opening the arranged version of 'Blood on the Keys' like it's a slow ballad version for 20 seconds before going 'nah' and doing it full tempo on piano with bass and drum accompaniment.

Yup. People betting on which team will win a sporting event is going to happen, so regulating it instead of having it run by shady individuals, isn't the worst idea. Betting on everything, and the absolutely insane prop bets these apps are rotten with, is where I have a problem.
I’m not anti-gambling in totality and even think a basic level of regulated sports gambling isn’t the worst thing in the world. But it’s pretty astounding how quickly the current system careened toward turning every dumbass bet you might casually make with your friends into multimillion dollar pots.
Hi. There has been $38 million worth of activity on the game of the year results on gambling platform Polymarket.

Two things can be true! Both of them can have done separate bad things, neither of which justify the other!!
this question has brought a bunch of men out of their hidey holes to say it’s not relevant and that i’m just dEfeNdiNg WoMeN. surreptitiously recording your fiancé and then publishing quotes is a shitty thing to do. it doesn’t make nuzzi’s behavior less shitty. it’s a separate shitty thing.
since ryan disabled replies, i'll pose my question to him here: were you recording your conversations with olivia without her knowledge?

This this this, year-end lists aren’t designed to make you feel good about what you experienced, they are designed to guide you towards experiences that you may have missed!
Year-end critics’ lists exist for people to fight over, so I’m happy when people complain about them. But the complaint I will never get is, “I’ve never heard of most of these movies/albums/shows.” Yes, and? Why be mad about learning about stuff you didn’t know before from the news?

a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?

Noem literally gave him credit for the US not having a major hurricane this year, it's so far beyond parody at this point. Their useless house of cards should've fallen years ago and the fact that we are still being subjected to this madness has long since become insulting.
He can't stay awake. Or walk. Or speak. I'm so sick of the GOP denial. The embarrassing flattery parades. The complicit press standing silent while he drones on incomprehensibly or insults colleagues who dare to question his lies. Or laughing obligatorily at his non-jokes. I'm just so tired of it.

Look, there's a lot going on here, but this does explain a lot about Bioshock, a game where nearly every person you meet is trying to use you for their own ends and you're thrilled to see all the helpful vending machines.

Wanted to thank @ricdesi.dpad.fm for letting me put captions onto this older video regarding Michael Jackson's connections to Sonic 3. I remember watching the video and enjoying it back to the day, so it was really cool to help add one more neat thing on top of it.

and i love a good slogan but what does this really mean? like, what is the implication that people are supposed to take?

it's pretty clearly "we won't let anyone fall through the cracks but we won't stop your wealth accumulation either"

not good enough!

This is so great. I love shows to respect their own continuity, but not to the point where offhand remarks shackle writers creatively. Even if it's enough to warrant a retcon, that's not inherently bad! Just do it in a way that respects your audience.
You guys interested in more stuff I pulled from Ron Moore’s ‘90s AOL chats with DS9 fans?

This was in reaction to a Season 5 ep retconning Dr. Bashir’s history. OH NO! The sacred CANON was violated!

Ron has the correct perspective (and more patience than I would have.)

Everyone who has only seen the movies: Mace Windu is so cool!

Anyone who has seen ancillary media: Mace Windu kinda sucks, like a lot, actually.
179. Almost no one has figured out what Mace Windu’s deal is supposed to be. Coolness is projected onto him because he is played by a cool guy who has a cool color lightsaber, but he always just kind of does nothing.

The only exception to this has been Genndy Tartakovsky in the 2D Clone Wars show.

This applies equally to Corey Burton in the Kingdom Hearts games for DiZ/(spoiler). It's not simply a good facsimile of Lee, he's genuinely able to put more gravitas and emotion into the voice than Lee was capable of at that age.
193. Corey Burton’s impression of Christopher Lee as Count Dooku sounds more like how you want Christopher Lee to sound as Count Dooku than Christopher Lee himself

Next up would be the Ham. I like Ham but I’ve never come to a Thanksgiving dinner going “I hope they have some Ham!” Just the wrong meat for the holiday.

How do I not have any of these? I would’ve been six years old, which means McDonalds was still my favorite place to eat, and I was deeply obsessed with The Muppets (still am). Really feel like my parents dropped the ball here!
When McDonald’s launched the Muppet Babies Christmas plush promotion, they ordered a supply of 40 MILLION DOLLS… which, according to some internal documents, was the largest single order of plush toys ever placed. (1988)

I’m shocked to find that dipping chicken nuggets into salsa didn’t catch on!

I don’t know if this is better or worse than their current promotion where they’ve combined their existing Buffalo and Ranch dips into a Buffalo Ranch dip.

This is objectively correct. Sure, Krillin's a pervert, but he's too anxious and broke to do anything about it. Roshi is too conspicuous and also doesn't have email, so he's out.
Look

Of all the Dragon Ball characters who COULD be in the Epstein files, Yamcha makes the most sense

- Washed-up athlete
- Had access to unsupervised fortune
- Massive jealousy complex(es)
- Arrested development as young teen
- Known adulterer
- Still hangs out with high school friends
fuck…Yamcha is mentioned in the Epstein files
