A tragedy for sure. However I am struck by all the quotes being about how fabulous Rob is. There’s no-one speaking about Michele.

Bridget Phillipson knew her history, was told by MPs not to appoint her, insisted on appointing her, and in her first interview the Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission has ignored super clear and explicit human rights law that trans people are not a third sex. What a disgrace.

It's not illegal to use the right toilets and no one should adhere to Mary-Ann Stephenson's headmistressly call to "follow rules" that serve no good purpose, breach the UK's human rights obligations, will be bad for all women, and debase trans dignity. Make her appoint her sodding toilet police.

You know full well that if a presenter of a BBC program claimed that they'd been forced out for their anti-trans opinions then Keir Starmer and several other ministers would have takes printed on front pages about it the next day.

But @robinince.bsky.social will not get that treatment.

If you don't know any trans people you may be completely unaware of how the rising tide of transphobia has led to the BBC actually editing pieces, not to update the story but to insert slurs to make a story more transphobic
There are more cis people aware of the BBCs transphobia today thanks to @robinince.bsky.social

Thank you Simon Jenkins. I do not need to agree with every word, idea or phrase in order to say that this is one of the few articles to avoid to heat and anger and to recognise the human and interactive elements necessary for a way forward.

@theguardian.com And also see the BBC who are normally willing to humiliate trans people. . . 'On Monday, an employment tribunal outlined four ways in which NHS Fife harassed Sandie Peggie, but dismissed all her other claims.' www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It was not a ‘narrow win’ for Ms Peggie. She list on all counts in relation to Dr Upton and ‘trans issues’. The judgments in her favour related to the way her employer handled some aspects of her complaint.
What is wrong with you Guardian?

When are we to expect newspaper front-page interview features with Dr. Beth Upton about her two-year ordeal of having her right to anonymity removed and her name dragged through the mud and being decried as a sexual predator only for a tribunal to clear her and find SHE was discriminated against?

Dreadfully inaccurate headlines 🙁
You'd never know it from these headlines that she lost all her claims on the actual substance of the case, claiming that trans people must be banned from bathrooms.

Mini thread on the ET decision in Peggie

Top line: It says exactly what we have been saying for months. The decision of the Supreme Court was not to turn the Equality Act 2010 into a nationwide bathroom ban - regardless of how anti-trans organisations have sought to misrepresent the law.

Largely hanging fire on saying anything about this till have had a chance to fully digest legal folks' analysis of it, but reminder that the press often spins this stuff as a big win for GCs because they want to intimidate employers into discriminating against us, not because it's necessarily true.

She’s entirely vindicated and her evidence was found more reliable.
