RIP Drew Struzan - a man whose talent and imagination etched onto so many minds throughout the last 40+ years.

His art & posters are some of the first visuals I think of when I think about cinema - an invitation to watch these stories and worlds.

Rewatched THE FOG (1980) for the first time in years and I now think it’s a 10/10.

Incredible atmosphere and patience. Phenomenal use of a big cast, great pacing and really fantastic effects.

I can’t believe I used to think this was a lesser Carpenter.

Got this screed in response to a weeks-old Palestine Action post. Their account is nothing but racist sealioning so they got blocked without a reply. But even if I didn’t think this anecdote of theirs was total horseshit, criminal damage is a legal recourse without defaulting to terrorism charges.

Palestine Action repeatedly attacked a local business with a sledgehammer and red paint; employees had bricks with the “Palestinian” flag chalked on left outside their homes. By run training sessions on how to do this.
PA are organised criminals and the ban is deserved.

I only wrote about 100 comics in my so-called career, but now that I'm dying, I'm grateful that I got to do even that. Comics are such a wonderful medium, and they've always meant so much to me.

I did not know that Glasgow played a pivotal role in Rocky Horror!

Let’s talk about “Rocky Horror.” Can you describe how you created the look for Frank-N-Furter?

I didn’t really create it myself. I was grimly unaware when I read the role and started to rehearse it that the national costume of Transylvania was a corset and whatever else you put with it. But the costume designer, Sue Blane, had worked with me before in a remarkable repertory theatre in Glasgow, Scotland, called the Citizens Theatre, where we had done a production of “The Maids,” by Jean Genet. I played one of the rather grubby sisters, Solange. And Sue designed that outfit. For “Rocky Horror,” she went to a market in Glasgow called the Barras, where all kinds of crap was sold, and she found a Victorian corset for three pounds. I wore it back to front. [Laughs.]

Orla Bard, looking radiant, struggles not to turn into The Ick as she lies in bed with Gwyn, her arm transforming, and later her back transforming as she sits on top of a confused Gwyn, covering his eyes. On both occasions, she's saying, "I feel sick!"

Orla says "I feel sick!" as she vibrates, Ick fangs emerging from her mouth, then says "I feel sick!" as Gwyn gives her a back massage, her feet turning into Ick form.

Orla's hand is transforming in the shower with Gwyn, as she says "RRRR I feel fucking SICK!" Then, while Gwyn enjoys a mouthful of cake, Orla looks thoughtful. Gwyn emerges to say "Sick?" and she responses with, "Hmmm, not yet, keep going."
