We can't really say this enough...

> Anastasia Berg [at UCL Irvine] said that new research — and what she's hearing directly from colleagues across various industries — shows that employees who heavily rely on AI are losing core skills at a startling rate.

Well 'The Snake Eater' by T. Kingfisher dropped today, one of my instabuy authors.

It's a couple days early but CLOSE ENOUGH.
Happy Birthday to me: *grabs the eBook and the audio and coils into a hole to absorb a new read*

And should always be reminded that this shit is only barely a hundred years old, or even just under that. It was not that long ago.
It was only a little more than a hundred years ago when the US government dropped Mustard Gas on striking miners in west virginia.

Absolutely wild to run into an ex friend and ex coworker (same person) while out with littlest for some new clothes yesterday. Thankfully we were leaving and he and his family were entering. He exchanged vague pleasantries and stared at me like I might strike like a cobra. Wild given our last talk…

WELP: Husbeast's plan to buy the pies instead of having me make them did... not go to plan. The pumpkin pie showed up wrecked and they remade it at Nana's house. The PECAN pie was fine but...
...well, it looked fine.
I've never been VISERALLY disappointed by a pecan pie before.

When I was a kid, I had a crappy little keyboard synthesizer, and I remember banging the keys and being so impressed that my random monkey clicking almost sounded like music, despite being nowhere close.

This post is about AI bros.

More stupid podcast ads:

"Say what you want about AI; it's here!" (annoying fake perky voice)

Ma'am so is trash. We eject that from our lives as quickly as possible too.

Seriously this is the stuff of nightmares. No. So much no.
This is fucking disgusting.

This is not our loved ones but a fucking glorified calculator wearing their fucking skin. It will never be them

Loss sucks. It is horrible

But this is worse. We must learn to remember and cope in our own way, not use a fucking slop machine to delay it.
For real, check this out. Evil.

steam is apparently allowing "this game had AI in it that it didn't disclose" as a valid return statement, so if you or anyone you know actually paid $70 for slop, get that money back

There is an outside chance I might get a Steamdeck as my Bday/Xmas present combo...

cross fingers for me? I'd like to retire my Switch because of my frustration with Nintendo and actually be able to play games without crashing my computer every ten minutes.

I am. So very tired of the news just constantly throwing six new infuriating things at me every time there's a single win. I realize that some of these are acts of the desperation of angry horrible people, but it doesn't make them less infuriating.

WELP just for fun: apparently the website with the LIST OF HOLIDAY CLOSURES for the town transfer station doesn't mean ANYTHING because today isn't on it, but they're still closed and now I have a trunk full of trash I thought I could drop off today because -SILLY ME- I thought they'd be truthful.
