In response to this we’re supposed to trust people who studiously avoid any mention of race.
An excellent, bone-chilling story about a cadre of online racists who stole genetic data from studies on children so they could make specious arguments for the innate inferiority of non-white people, it's embrace by Elon Musk/twitter & how the Trump administration might make it easier to do again.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

The entire democratic caucus should go to Minneapolis and join the protests in the streets imo
When will it be enough for you, @schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social ? When will you be moved? You should be standing in the streets of Minneapolis. You should be shouting from the rooftops. What a pathetic pair of cowards.

Honestly I think the focus on that 7 is not even helpful, because what happened is that Dem leadership refused to push any position and just kind of shrugged, letting this happen. Those 7 votes belong to all Dems, not just those 7
Two days ago, 7 democrats voted to fund that execution

I just watched the shooting video. It's a horrific beating and execution in the middle of the street.

If local and state officials don't move to arrest everyone involved for murder, they need to resign. Making arrests will de-escalate the situation. Do nothing and this is going to explode.

Once again, immigration is not even a problem. Immigrants are not more criminal, they don't cost jobs, they don't harm the economy. There is no reason for any of this. It is hurting ourselves to hurt them.

I am of the position that today's action in Minneapolis kicks ass and is very promising, while also believing that "big crowd marches for a day" will have diminishing returns in efficacy unless elected Dems find some fire in their bellies to match and unless more sustained actions are considered.

A decade of trans advocacy has taught me people believe lies because they want to, not because they don't know they are lies. They believe trans people will regret our transition because they want us to regret our transition. They believe we are a "social contagion" because that is how they see us

overstaying a visa is the primary way people maintain an unauthorized presence in the United States. overstaying your visa is a civil infraction, like a five over speeding ticket. this is like saying there's no humane way to do traffic enforcement
It is very very hard to deal with illegal immigration at scale in a humane way. We need curated pathways to citizenship FULL STOP. This complexity is HIGHLIGHTED by the fact that Trump’s only answers are a) a big wall and b) a violent rogue agency that shoots moms in the face and kidnaps children.

I am way past arguing about the fucking 2024 election in 2026 but it still remains the case that either the pro-palestine people lost you the election and tactically everyone should've listened to them or they were tactically not worth appealing to and your fixation on them specifically is *WEIRD*.
The pro-Palestine people are why we're in this shit. And now the ones in MN are in the FA of their FO of their staying home or voting for him. And now they can't even take responsibility for their mistake and always argue in bad faith.

There’s no point during the detention of a five-year-old that any person with a functioning moral center would not step back to reassess the situation and their place in it. That nobody involved did proves they lack the common interiority required to successfully coexist in ordered society.

Something that has led us here is elite impunity. The fact that laws aren’t enforced against favored interests produces moral rot. Everything from “cops get to park on the sidewalk“ to “Biden can ignore US law to arm Israel“ is morally compromising even if it isn’t aligned with the GOP itself.
