RTO is purely about emotionally stunted manchildren wanting to feel powerful, IMO.

I think every rationale for why capitalists want RTO is post-hoc. Investments, efficiency, big brother-ing employees, etc.
The real reason is an emotional one: physically seeing a group of people who have to pay attention to you and do what you say feels extremely good when you're a sociopath

You can be mad that some number of Democrats will agree to fund ICE out of a desire to avert a shutdown. My problem is that the "guardrails" on ICE put into the funding bill don't even work on their own terms, because there's still no guarantee that money appropriated will be spent.

Minneapolis and Saint Paul have basically mobilized into a war economy of mutual aid and non-violent defense. I’ve never seen anything like it, even during Covid. People who barely vote are guarding their schools from ICE and doing the shopping for neighbors in hiding.
