There is no excuse for giving in to a bad deal —
especially after voters turned out in record numbers last week to elect Democrats on the promise that they would stand up and fight for working families.

Tonight, Senate Republicans — aided by eight Democrats — passed a funding bill that will raise healthcare premiums for millions of Americans and leave some families without health care at all.

Correct. The Georgia case still lives on because it was brought in state court for state crimes.
This question is being asked because Trump cannot pardon state crimes. What he issued tonight was messaging, not a true pardon.
Everyone’s like “so what do these pardons DO??” and honestly I’d say it probably has more to do with this than anything substantive, at least for now
It’s a communicative pardon

Apart from everything else, the logic of it all just astounds me.
Your party gets a clean sweep of the elections a week ago, and your response is “let’s go cave to the people who our entire party hates so much they broke turnout records six days ago?”
What kind of thinking is THAT?

Schumer should be publicly shamed into immediate resignation. But I doubt that’s going to happen and I don’t want three more years of this feckless, pathetic groveling to a fascist regime while people starve, suffer and die.
It’s revolting. It’s not what I voted for any of these people to do.

Giving some thought for the first time in my life today to unaffiliating from the Democratic Party.
I’m so fcking angry about this deal and all the stupid machinations of who would take the fall so no one up for a primary would be hurt, while my own premiums are now unaffordable under the ACA.

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.
Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.
This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.

Some good news this morning.
NEW: The First Circuit has denied the Trump Admin’s motion to stay in our SNAP case. This means that full benefits should be paid after the SCOTUS stay expires. The court does not mince words about what the government has done here. Congrats to our clients, co-counsel, and @democracyforward.org.
