CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND was released 48 years ago today. One of Hollywood’s definitive science fiction movies, and among the most acclaimed of director Steven Spielberg, the story of how it was made might have you playing with your mashed potato…

35 years ago today THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER was released in theaters. This oft overlooked animated gem was not only the most underrated release of the Disney Renaissance, it was the introduction of the CAPS digital animation technology & the studio’s first ever theatrical animated sequel.

I hate that AI has made me approach cute animal videos with an air of suspicion. I resent having to harden my heart to the possibility of an unlikely friendship between a very large dog and a very small one

On this day in #LooneyTunes history, audiences were introduced to Lola Bunny. Originally conceived for the movie “Space Jam”, she became Bugs Bunny’s female counterpart in nearly every single Looney Tunes product and project (depending on creator’s/studio's personal preference).

I have a limited number of sets of 5 Hobbiton-in-the-snow greeting cards w/ envelopes at www.albaillustration.com/original-art.... They feature gold foil on the front + a hopeful message from the kindest, most loyal character in fiction (who also happens to be our son's namesake!).

I think it’s great that our media elites have decided that men in their 30s saluting Hitler are just rambunctious kids who got carried away, while 16-year old girls being trafficked and raped by billionaires are “underage women” making informed choices. Definitely reflects well on us as a society.

Literally my favorite story EVER WRITTEN. Not even kidding.
I have a story in this one! “Don’t Be Late” is about kid pop stars The Bunny Brothers, who grew up with an abusive human “father” and are now struggling with adult life. #FurryWriting
They say that blood is thicker than water, but they also say you can’t choose your family. These twelve authors have something to say about both. Grab "Tales from the Guild: Blood and Water" from the @furrywritersguild.bsky.social at fenrispublishing.com/product.php?...

Mask up, get vaxxed.
Warnings rise for U.S. as a severe flu strain causes outbreaks. A flu strain that emerged over the summer is causing unprecedented outbreaks in Japan, as well as in Canada and the U.K. The CDC hasn't provided insights on flu in the U.S. in nearly 2 months.

Reminder that Starbucks’ CEO made 6,666x more than the company's median employee in 2024.

This was the widest CEO-to-Worker pay gap in the entire S&P 500.

And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

RE starbucks picket line--the relevant detail is "picket line, do not cross." Pass that along. Proclaiming that you are in no danger of doing so because you are too aesthetically pure to let Starbucks coffee pass your lips is...unhelpful and does not give the impression you perhaps imagine it does.
