Just a little background, if you don’t know my work… ‘When Beasts Spoke’ is a collection of illustrated thoughts from the animal’s perspective. Contemplations on anything from mindfulness, self-love, or gratitude, to observations on the little things and the joys of nature. And I paint the animals ☺️

Hare found herself lost in the enchantment of her favourite things; meadow gold, crispy seeds, gentle barley fields.
She often found time just to sit and to be.
After all, nothing was more important than being, and nothing more enchanting than being with your favourite things.

As an artist, you spend a lot of time alone - painting, thinking, finding inspiration. Nowadays you spend a lot of this time filming yourself, making something to share with social media….

Brush with the Wild | Harvest Mouse
Meet Harvest Mouse -our tiny wild neighbour, as light as a whisper. With bright eyes and a tail that works as a balancing pole, they scamper and sway through tall grasses as if the meadow were made for them. A playful soul; a reminder to explore and have fun.

Puffin loved going on adventures but there was nothing quite like coming home.
She'd been away for a while and, as she finally made her way home, she was feeling fabulous. A feeling of comfort, safety, and quiet excitement all at the same time. It couldn't be matched.

🐧 Puffin fact #2: Puffins are amazing flyers. They flap their wings up to 400 times a minute, reaching speeds of 55 mph. Underwater, they “fly” through the sea to chase fish!

🐧 Puffin fact #1: During breeding season, puffins gather in noisy colonies on coastal cliffs. Each pair returns to the same burrow year after year… proof that even wanderers know the way home, and a lovely little symbol of loyalty and homecoming by the sea.

Puffin brings a touch of joy to even the windiest cliffs and painting puffin brings that same joy. Behind the charm is a quiet strength; built for wind, wave, and wild weather. Capturing this is the challenge, but, I must admit, a very cute one.

Brush with the Wild | Puffin
Meet Puffin - the little seabird with a big personality! Spending most of the year far out on the ocean, they return to our cliffs at spring to raise their fluffy little “pufflings.” A reminder to trust the tides, and never be afraid of adventure.

Fox had spent a rather enjoyable morning searching for the perfect collection of leaves.
She'd finally found it.
With a joyful soul and playful heart, she jumped.

It can sometimes be difficult deciding on a print size for a friend’s wall, the right coasters for your auntie’s living room when you can’t quite remember what colour scheme they’ve gone for, or even being sure if your mum would prefer a donkey or an otter notepad! So, I thought an egift card, where they can choose from any of my products, might be a good idea (and potentially a lot less stressful if you’re not a shopping-loving person or - like me - you’re not great at decisions!)

It was getting rather chilly and Sheep had to admit it got her down sometimes.
She could always rely on her pals to make it better though. Huddled together, having a catch-up and a natter, she was part of something.
Not just keeping her warm, but keeping her happy.
