I was asked by @scottishbooktrust.bsky.social to adapt a short story by Aileen MacAlister into a comic to celebrate the release of the Book Week Scotland collection.

It’s about friendship. And losing a parent. It was a privilege to adapt it.

I don’t want to be a scold, I know Bsky moderates too aggressively and I like an easy, obvious gag as much as anyone. But I’m seeing so many more “lol their emails” in my feed compared to rage about what these evil fucks did - and no doubt continue to do - to so many women and girls.

Guuurl, I got my M.A. in GENDER Studies, not in 1950s SEX Studies. If you want your belief that there are only two sexes and therefore only two genders confirmed, you're at the wrong address. Go talk to someone who, just like you, confuses gender reveal parties with genitalia reveal parties.

This is amazing. Even as @evegwood.com is winding down @quindriepress.com they are doing everything they can to give comics creators a leg up. Quindrie has been a foundational rock on which many in the Scottish comics scene have built their houses over the last 5 years. I'm sorry to see it go.
Following from our announcement that Quindrie Press will be closing at the end of 2026, I want to make people aware that in Spring 2026 we will be opening a one-off comic fund for UK creators. More details will be released next year.

Incisive analysis from Dorian Lynskey on the deplorable state of affairs currently engulfing the BBC and the hypocrisy of the likes of Robbie Gibb and his minions.

The idea that this individual is somehow an “impartiality tzar” who supports unbiased journalism is absurd and utterly despicable.

I need froth-o-vision to appreciate fully the madness of this Palantir interview. Almost like the madness of Denethor at the end. I picture this man on a pyre, cackling while holding the magical seeing eye.

Comics types: any recommendations for where to post a webcomic? I’ve had this finished book for aaaages and thinking of sticking it online in small chunks. (Wasn’t designed as a webcomic so doing it page by page wouldn’t necessarily work, but I’m thinking scene by scene probably would)

"Comic" shops the world over quaking at the potential massive loss of sales. Quickly pivoting to comics to make up the loss.
Funko admits “substantial doubt” it can continue as a going concern amid crashing sales and mounting debt.

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

Both my husband and I have worked jobs where we've *had* to use VPNs to comply with data security regulations.

The name of the game for this Labour government seems to be gross violations of privacy that also completely obstruct the basic functioning of society. It's their only move.
The British government admits it is now monitoring VPNs use by UK residents. Regulator Ofcom has contracted with an AI-powered surveillance service to detect the number of citizens using VPNs to evade the Online Safety Act.

The UK tech minister has said a VPN ban is on the table.
Exclusive: Ofcom is monitoring VPNs following Online Safety Act. Here's how
Ignoring VPNs risks creating ineffective laws, but tracking them threatens people's privacy

Genuinely feels like we're losing a solid chunk of the heart of UK indie comics right here - but I know that Eve will go on to do amazing things. Quindrie is an amazing thing in and of itself - so much good work has come through its doors, so many great storytellers finding audiences.
I have made the incredibly difficult decision to close down Quindrie Press at the end of 2026. Please read my full statement, along with information about what's next at Quindrie and an FAQ, here: quindriepress.com/closing

The truly maddening thing is that, unlike when I was a young man in science and the materials and engineering just weren’t there yet, the future is *right there.* The problem is *solved*. What’s holding us back is not just greed, but this bizarre nostalgia, an obsession with petro- masculinity.
