No big deal, but the Alberta government just increased the fee to submit a citizen initiated petition from $500 to $25, 000. After the separatism initiative was approved, but before Corb Lund's coal mining petition gets re-approved. No political shenanigans going on here.

This was the only topic I couldn't get students to reconsider about AI this fall. I think there are whole fields/departments of social science and data science that should be fully ignored going forward. Because it won't be real.

Currently in AB: 50% of ALL Emergency Care Spaces in the Edmonton and Calgary major EDs are blocked by very sick pts who cannot be admitted up to the proper floor as the hospital is too full. (= Emerg In -Pts = EIPs). STRANDED in our EDs.
