IT guy, Yinzer, dad to dogs and humans, gamer, though I’ve always liked Star Trek’s “ugly bag of mostly water”.
Jeff Kent is a decent player, but I’m not sure anyone outside his immediate family ever bought a ticket just to watch him play.

What’s this weird feeling…? Reflective Humble Max Verstappen is making me like him more.

Stranger Things is overall pretty far-fetched, but believing Steve could use a chainsaw to cut a smooth-edged rectangle out of a floor plate without compromising the structural integrity of the floor or encountering any electrical or plumbing is preposterous

Oh wow. If Antonelli doesn’t go wide, Max and Lando are tied, and Max wins it on race wins.

It is kinda weird how the final race and the driver’s championship messes with the usual post-race flow: it’s like… “fuck your race win, Max”.

In framing the F1 title race in US terms, I settled on “Tom Brady vs. early-career Cam Newton”. Proven champion who just rubs people the wrong way vs. guy who’s inconsistent and hasn’t proven as much, but is easier to root for.

I’ll state for the record that I don’t dislike Max and I absolutely respect his talent… but I’m also just ready for a new champion. So… please, can McLaren just not shoot their own drivers in the foot three weeks in a row?

F1 needs one race per year where they put cars and drivers into a hat and pick pairings at random. Kimi and Ocon are McLaren boys today! Max in a Williams! Oscar in an Alpine just to be ironic. LET CHAOS REIGN.

Trump's dementia has grown so extreme that a select group of advisors are now running the country without his input. To find who those advisors are and what their plans are, buy my new book, which will appear in March 2029.

I like the Garcia and Luciano pickups, but I still want to see the Pirates add some major-league bats and not just shuffle in another grab-bag of 2nd-tier prospects and hope for the best.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

There was a tweet some years back that was like "Being a Democrat is like going to a concert where the band is telling everyone to calm down the whole time" and I think about it a lot
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
"Republicans will never allow articles of impeachment to be brought to the floor," he said.
