And the thing is, I know the Internet Archive exists. I can see most of these stories FOR FREE. But I would like to pay a fair price for the portion of journalists' work that I consume - a slightly outsized portion, in fact, compared to the cost of a subscription.

I’m very hesitant to promote the mad king narrative because that obscures the reality that lot of the admin’s wildest policies are crafted and pushed by advisors/potential successors who posses many faults but are still of sound mind.

Don't forget folks: allowing yourself a vision of the future you'd want for our country and planet - not the one you'd settle for, not the one you fear, but the future of your dreams - isn't naive, it's a vital cognitive skill. That's how we articulate what we most value. What's worth fighting for.
Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.

looking up the source of quotes, whether for a book or a video script, is great for figuring out when a quote everyone "knows" and has repeated for ages is actually just weird bullshit someone else made up

This is the way. A unified message denouncing cruel, corrupt, and unconstitutional approaches to governance.
I’ll keep pushing this line of analysis because I’m increasingly convinced the clearest path out of this mess is for Dems to adopt a relentless anti-corruption, anti-inequality, anti-oligarchy, pro-democracy platform. The Dem leadership hasn’t realized it yet, but they’re now a reform party.

American constitutionalism stinks. Excessive authority given to unelected judges and non democratically elected presidents. Too much power given to unpopulated States in Senate. Gerrymandered House. Ineffective amendment and impeachment process. Parliamentary system is better form of Government.
