Here are tips from someone with an anxiety disorder!

antiacids can help with immediate anxiety and feeling sick

I'm going to link YouTube videos and worksheets that have exercises and tools for anxiety. Use what works. Leave the rest.

You can go to the ACLU site and print pamphlets in Spanish to be passed out in Hispanic areas. I've been through ICE raids speaking fluent English. It's worse in Spanish. We have to protect these people now.

One thing to note here about long polio (aka poliomyelitis): initially, people will appear to recover.

Appear: damage has been done, motor neurons destroyed; but the human body is resilient, other neurons take over.

But they're not for long: these neurons are now overloaded, will die prematurely.

Fun polio fact: it is asymptomatic in 70% of cases.

In 29.5% of the cases symptoms do appear, they are gastrointestinal distress, normal enterovirus stuff.

Polio only displays neurological symptoms in 0.5% of cases.

You don't remember polio, you only remember *longpolio*

Since everyone’s finding old and new friends, take a moment to read my story, I’m a 32yo polio survivor because I was not vaccinated. Pass on my story, repeat it, tell it to any vaccine hesitate parent. No kid deserves vaccine preventable diseases

I’m a Polio Survivor. I Don’t Want You to Get It.
Polio is once again a public health threat in the United States. Grace is disappointed, though not surprised.

A very meaty Health Care, Inc. this morning from @bobjherman.bsky.social

He points out that buried deep inside a Medicare proposal from last week, the government asks the public for feedback on what to do about a loophole that lets insurers pay themselves above the legal limit.

Check it out: 🩺
How often ‘value-based care’ is uttered on Wall Street
This week in health care news: Insurers tout value based care, we round up hospital finances, and regulators have an eye on vertical integration.

It’s been hard to have enough energy to post any personal updates, and it’s also felt like there isn’t much new other than the continuing saga of health awfulness and never ending crashes.

But I’m still here. And Cheerio is keeping me company.

Copying over the first of many ADHD threads, which is the most useful one:

"Oh fuck, I've been called out by enough posts/TikToks/memes, I think I'm ADHD, but what now?"

First things first: You should know that there's an emotional part of this, and you're going to process both anger and grief.

Sister's dating a maga. So I decided to end any chance of bullsh*t at family dinners before it started. Setting the table I put an Alka seltzer tablet in his glass.
Also had an empty pill bottle I put green jellybeans in.

Everyone sits down, I pour the drinks.
Him: why is my glass fizzing?

📌 stitches sewing mending check the rest of the thread there's more awesomeness in the replies from sashiko

@redshiftsinger.bsky.social
I’d add to this, learn to do a running stitch, ladder stitch, herringbone stitch, and blanket or buttonhole stitch.

In that order of importance. Those will effectively solve 99% of mending problems that darning won’t solve, applied to their relevant areas of strength.
