A video game trope I appreciate is when the difficulty settings get some kind of in-universe flavor instead of just being "easy, medium, hard" or whatever. Doom's difficulty settings are a fun example of this but another one that randomly popped into my head was no more heroes (mild, sweet, bitter)

I forget if I've asked this before but I'm curious: Did anyone else out there grow up doing Thanksgiving but without the traditional Thanksgiving? When I was growing up my family would usually do a big fish and other Italian stuff like lasagna. I never had turkey on Thanksgiving until I was like 12

Most of the longtime Friends of Fredo™ know the lore that I was the lamest / most unpopular kid in my school. I forget what got me thinking about it, but one interesting side effect of this is that it did give me an odd sort of social influence in a way, because I was the "trend-killer"

Whenever I am feeling lost, I look to Jesus for guidance and inspiration. I find that prayer is a wonderful way to reset myself and remember that God has a plan for me, and His divine inspiration guides everything I do.

The 20th anniversary of the xbox 360 has got me thinking about how weird things are for them right now. It feels like ancient history now (and I guess it kind of is) but it's wild to think about how the xbox brand was so huge and was more popular than playstation for a bit (in the US at least)

Fun Dr Fredo fact - There's actually a fair amount of research indicating that the act of writing stuff down helps with encoding material into memory, so it can be helpful to take notes even if you never actually reference them!
I took notes using a pen and paper and am absolutely astounded at how well those ideas stuck in my head so now I'm going to write the entire internet down into notebooks bye
