Avatar is the cover of Gryphon's classic 1973 debut album.
If you're interested in checking out Bob Weir's work outside of the Grateful Dead.... I can't recommend his 2016 album Blue Mountain enough. It's wonderful - I picked it up because I found it cheap and I was shocked by just how good it was.

Called my folks today. They said "We heard about Bob Weir and figured you'd call".

They know me well.

Jeez.... RIP Bob Weir. Just found out about this and can't even find the words for it right now.

Been watching some early nineties WWF recently and it's kinda making me feel weird when the commentators talk about how ancient Bob Backlund is when he is basically exactly as old as I am now.

Taxi holds up ludicrously well. It's probably the single best sitcom of its era.
So anyone who has followed me from my Twitter days knows I love to rewatch old tv shows, and my wife got me this set for Christmas, so I am adding it to the rotation.

I really don't have many "in the wild" style celebrity interactions - it's mostly attending signings and such. That said - the coolest celebrity I ever encountered in such a setting was Mick Foley. He went way out of his way to give every kid in the line a personal interaction. Absolute A+ dude.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Please Quote this with your most minor celebrity interaction

I seriously can't think of a song I like more than "Light From A Dead Star" by Lush. Lush should be *way* more famous than they are.

Listening to Giant For A Day by Gentle Giant. Everybody in the world thinks this is a terrible record, but they're all wrong.

Bought Yooka-Replaylee and finished it over the weekend. I think I may be the only person alive who thinks that the original was much better.

I'm on the east coast and thus can't take advantage of this, but if you're somewhere in the midwest.... get on this.
I just bought $23(!!!) tickets on Stubhub for Paul McCartney in Minneapolis next week.

I've seen him 5 times and never paid under $100.

I wouldn't sleep on those 🎟 if you're interested. I sent a mass email to all my music students parents letting them know those are available.

Give folks their flowers

No, I mean right now. Go tell someone you loved their work right now. They're on social media just say it, it has never been easier

"They know how much people love--" no they don't go say it right now to a composer or artist or game dev or writer or anyone AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

I am at the *exact* intersection of Millennials and Gen X. This feels like a much more accurate way to sort myself than by generation, because I'll be *dammed* if I'm gonna watch a video when I could just read an article.
The real generational divide is people who refuse to watch a video if it could be an article versus people who refuse to read an article if it could be a video

I *worked* as a cashier at Walmart back in 2001. By that point, nothing in this video existed.
This is doing numbers on social media right now and it's so depressing how people truly yearn for this shit and want to preserve that feeling indefinitely like a mausoleum of false memories.

When I was a teenager, I spent about a year with no running water at my house due to various circumstances. This necessitated going to a local laundromat to do my laundry. Said establishment had a single arcade machine: This one. I can't fully express just how good I got at this game.
Just played the old cab a couple weeks ago!
