Update:

Katie just called me. She is being held by Homeland Security at the Whipple Federal Building down by the airport.

They have not told her anything. No word on release, no word on charges. Nothing. Ridiculous. But she is fine and in good spirits.

Her attorney is en route there right now.

When Massachusetts passed a "millionaires tax" in 2023, conservatives claimed the rich would flee.

But two years later, they haven't — and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.

A reminder that positive change can still happen at the state level.

And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

the state DFL are holding a listening tour with chair richard carlbom next month and their only minneapolis stop, at the downtown central library, is already at capacity

why aren't we using an MPS school for this like we do our conventions? they have big auditoriums and free parking too

It’s one of those hard truths that Obama’s use of drone strikes to do extrajudicial murder in the name of the global war on terror set the stage for trumps extrajudicial murder across the global south and his plans to do the same domestically against those seen by republicans as domestic enemies

This is one of the main reasons I don't want Jacob leading this city anymore. The common denominator in these broken relationships across the board is him and his obstinance. He is not a collaborator.
Minneapolis needs a mayor capable of developing strong working relationships with other elected officials serving the city. Especially in these uncertain times. After 8 years in office, Jacob Frey has no endorsements from the Mpls legislative delegation or county commissioners serving the city.

There are more reasons Minneapolis needs a new mayor, but lying about police reforms, acting in ways that undermine trust in police reforms, and an inability to partner with other elected officials to promote and deliver on our city’s needs make it clear we need a new mayor.

Minneapolis deserves a mayor we can trust on police reform. The officer who killed Amir Locke was put in charge of use-of-force training by Jacob Frey’s police chief. When the situation became public, Frey doubled down on the chief’s decision before the people of Minneapolis forced a change.

Minneapolis deserves a mayor who doesn’t mislead us about policing. My heart still aches for Amir Locke & his family. Four years ago, Jacob Frey claimed to have ended no-knock warrants. He didn’t. And an innocent man then lost his life during the execution of a no-knock warrant.

I endorse DeWayne Davis bc I've been impressed w/ how he is bringing people together in his campaign & his mix of political experience & dedication to serving people in our community. He's shown a high level of integrity in how he’s navigated challenges in Mpls, & that's especially important now.

Jacob Frey wants to draft off No Kings to chase clout. His subordinates enabled an ICE raid. He hired a lawyer from Big Lie firm Jones Day. And his campaign is being bankrolled by Republicans. He does not support protest movements. He’s there for the vibes and for himself not any cause or ideal.

Why did Jacob Frey delete his electronic communications from the day that MPD collaborated with an ICE action on Lake St in Minneapolis?

What did he say? What did he learn? What did he direct?

Our public officials should not be destroying the official records of their actions.
