There is talk going around that DHS is now arresting people who fly *domestically* if they have final orders of removal.

Undocumented youth should consider consulting a lawyer to find out what their record is -- especially those whose parents had prior interactions with immigration.

One thing I hope that people who didn't know this before are realizing is that police (1) don't know the laws and (2) are not expected to know the laws.

New paper out in @jexpsocpsych.bsky.social !

We (@kwinter.bsky.social, @kaiepstude.bsky.social , Bob Fennis and I) found that encouraging counterfactual thinking reduces engagement with conspiracy theories (i.e., clicks on, and reading times for, conspiracy articles).

This is wonderful news, and also means it’s time for me to beat the drum I always do when HPV vaccines make the news:

They are not only for women! HPV also causes penile, anal, and head and neck cancers. The latter are particularly deadly. Please vaccinate ALL your children.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

I'm proud to report that I cleaned out our back hall/porch and brought the passover box downstairs and brought in the last jars of chametz. Yes, I know Thanksgiving is tomorrow. And yes I should consider that maybe we don't use those particular grains that much.

When I get my car inspection I drop it off and go for a walk to the small businesses in my neighborhood. Since my car failed inspection last week I have a bonus go-around today of Vietnamese iced coffee and a "croffle." I mean $250 on repairs sucked, but I'll enjoy my treat.

People need food. Market won’t provide it. Government should. It’s literally the whole point.
Turns out Mamdani's controversial proposal for government-run supermarkets isn't so novel. Other cities also are toying with the idea to bring fresh, affordable food to communities that do not have easy access to it. Good WSJ read (gift link)
