Saw that Luc Besson has a new movie out and I fell down a rabbit hole about just how young his 1st wife, the "alleged" inspiration for Portman's character in Leon was when they met. Here she is *2 yrs after* they met & allegedly 1 yr before they started dating. Portman's casting video for comparison

I recommend. I don't eat dead things, but @ealmquist.bsky.social said she's considering moving to Worcester after having the steak and mofongo. The Dulce de Leche cake was delicious, as was the mojito.

The Guardian's piece does not mention why Binienda would be defending Monfredo so vociferously (he was literally photographed with her at her campaign night party) but at least quotes Heather. It also quotes Binienda's concern about policy changes doing "reputational harm." Not helping her own here.

Here's some coverage of last night. Here is Binienda saying there is "uncomfortableness in the community for some reason" that her friend and ally who has a substantiated 51A for child rape was allowed by her to volunteer in schools. The reason is clear. www.worcestermag.com/story/news/e...

If you live in Worcester and don't already deeply dislike Ray Mariano, I'd like to invite you to join us.

Here he's, to be clear, talking about allegations that his friend raped a 4th grader, multiple times, under a stairway in the school he was principal of while Mariano himself was mayor.

What the hell? I thought it just takes some time. I was assured I was just in the middle of the ride. And that everything was going to be alright.

The one in our neighborhood closes at the end of September :( which actually yielded one of my all time favorite videos of my now 12 year old (at 4)

A very niche contribution to the inflatable costume batallion from Worcester, MA, home of Polar seltzer and formerly home of the late Polar bear family Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, and Kenda.

Found this video of my kid circa 2016 and I think it's a message that resonates now, even as it may have been accidental (pretty sure it was one of many takes of an imaginary YouTube show she was directing).

Cleaning out my car I found this 2 year old note card that must have fallen out when I cleaned out my university office earlier in the summer. Probably should have written this paper...

You have no idea how long this has been on my to do list. Did I finally manage to call? Not exactly. But I did tell my PCP when they asked me if I had called yet (since last year, yes) that I had not so they put in a referral and they called ME. I'm taking the check. We need the help we need.

My kid's last present from my Dad for her birthday just came and I don't think they should be allowed to communicate directly about gifts.

Fellow Worcester folks, I'm guessing that if I didn't get this Petty mailer, a lot of my mutuals didn't either. I have thoughts, but mostly curious about how he squares the school numbers (to say nothing of Mayor has no real leadership role in this). What time frame is he claiming here?

Tis the season. Sending wishes for a meaningful fast for all who do.

I feel like this excerpt is working to make Houraney the "good guy" here, and I feel like we really have to grapple with (1) how sick our society is and (2) how much worse Trump is that the guy recruiting 16 year olds for his swimsuit calendar is framed as the voice of protecting vulnerable girls.

Honestly it gets out of hand pretty quickly. I did eventually have to give mine a recurring guest class.

Little fire pit fire. Reclaiming 4th bonfire from my childhood trauma of every 4th my neighbors piling trash 10ft tall and setting it on fire so that there were 12-15 ft fires at an intersection of two city side streets with houses at every corner. I was the killjoy but I was right.

Looking at pictures I took last night after my kid's play and I found this blurry one a stranger kid walked through and check out the death glare.

My kid is officially at the stealing my shoes age. She's borrowing 24 year old me's prized possession for musical theater camp show day. These 80s resoled slouch boots went with everything in 2007. She's so excited they fit. I'm a little shell shocked lol.
