There is so much happening that could knock me off track, can drag me down, but queer people keep me centered, full of purpose, and — yes — even joyful.

I would not be me without all of you.

Thanks.

We of course know nothing yet, but a general bit of context: crazy people doing crazy things at the WH perimeter, including attacking USSS and the like, does happen with some modest frequency, every few years or so. For obvious reasons it tends to attract some of the most deranged individuals.

AND supporting your local library is super important! If you actually DO want books to be available to everyone, the library *already exists* and is staffed by the people who are deep in the trenches of fighting censorship! Supporting the library is doing actual good for your community!
TAPS SCREEN

For like the zillionth time: Libraries are FREE for you, but WE still get compensated for our work!!
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

One thing I will give Trump is that he certainly showed us that when the executive branch wants to do something, they can do a lot with impunity. I'm going to need the next president to bring that "Department of Education/ NOAA gotta go" energy to ICE and DOGE when they get in office.
Actually, it can NOT be made 'less terrible'. ICE MUST BE ABOLISHED.

The downplay of how horrible their actions are is disturbing. CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY. ALL ICE AGENTS ARE LAWLESS CRIMINALS THAT SHOULD BE ROUND UP & JAILED INDEFINITELY. Those in charge should be as well.

Takes like these...🤦🏽‍♀️

I'm not sure how new this problem is in academia but it does seem to have gotten worse in journalism/ freelance writing. And it's been a problem for a long time.
This is one of those things that rarely gets talked about that has had a massive effect.

As fields like journalism, art, and academia were collapsed and living expenses skyrocketed they came to skew increasingly toward people whose families could afford to supplement their income.
If you're ever wondered why journalists seem so out of touch most of the time it's because in order to establish yourself you need to either come from money, marry into money, or be OK with abject poverty and daily financial panic

That third thing is unsustainable long-term

“I hereby demand transportation become far more expensive” sure is one way to tackle sticky inflation, a massive set of consumer oriented tax-hikes, and a soft labor market.
Sean Duffy, the U.S. transportation secretary, has been urging people for the past week to dress and comport themselves better as a way of restoring “civility” to air travel. On Tuesday, he added another item to his list of concerns: the quality of the snacks handed out on commercial flights.

Sean Duffy, who has been promoting greater decorum among air travelers, said he would like to see choices besides salty pretzels and buttery cookies.
