I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Not only were food stalls the most common way for ordinary people to eat, but when people ate home-cooked meals, they ate communally, sharing among neighbors, coworkers, or family/friends.

This is the first weekend I'm spending alone at home in four weeks, and I believe I really needed that.

Had a super indulgent day yesterday where I did pretty much nothing of any productive value at all. Even used the bright weather to take a walk outside. =^_^=

Today at #chezRat, I'm having my traditional cheese and meat board with Swiss specialties brought back from GLC, accompanied by a bit of home-made fig mustard and spicy chili jam.
Three kinds of cheese and some cuts of cured beef neatly arranged on a wooden board, interspersed with crackers and grapes. The corner of the board holds a small plate with two types of dips, and a cheese knife rests at the bottom of the board.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
