LA based person. Let's Go O's. Curse O Les Boulez.
And hey not to pile on here but that Ryan Rollins guy seems like he can play as well, wonder what happened there.
It's the worst trade this FO has made so far (and probs only one I see as a definitive loss).

Two 1s for Deni was good value. But he was young enough to be on Wiz timeline + on a great contract + had upside. They didn't *need* to trade him but did and it's turned out poorly.
Hey Varun, off topic, but it kinda burns me up to see Deni blossom into an awesome 2-way player on a fantastic contract and I’m curious if mgmt has commented on it. It looks like they blew it.

I’ve been rewatching the Coen Bros filmography this month and while drawing a Barton Fink illustration, it struck me how much their films feel like Far Side cartoons: funny, strange, clever, yet frequently inscrutable. Anyway here’s a thread!

Hey Mike Elias was this play bad luck
#Orioles' Jeremiah Jackson hasn't played much right field -- 7 games among his 572 in the Minors.

Jackson tried to make a play here but couldn't, then the ball got past him, resulting in a 1-out triple for Cubs' Willi Castro in the bottom of the 4th inning:

It’s boring to see fans complain about
returns when a team is selling, but the Orioles have a supposedly different situation where this terrible play is a fluke that will be fixed by normalization and passage of time. This is what we’ve been sold. To see more 2026 holes created is mind boggling.

The Orioles farm system ranking will go from like 20th to 15th on the backs of newly acquired minor leaguers who will never play with Gunnar Henderson.

Yeah man 2026 looking great
Per Heyman, the final return is

LHP Boston Bateman
INF Cobb Hightower
INF/OF Victor Figueroa
RHP Tyson Neighbors
INF Brandon Butterworth
RHP Tanner Smith

If Oriole payroll goes down in 2026 everyone should be furious. I’m ok with moving Laureano, Ramon and Kittredge, but not if that salary goes in Mr. Bobblehead’s pockets versus getting reallocated.

I respectfully don’t understand the “bah who cares” sentiment from the fanbase. This signals 1 thing and 1 thing only - cheapness. Serious clubs looking to contend are willing to pay for competent major league depth. Plus defenders around the IF who can hit RHP in limited roles do not grow on trees.
Yup!
Ramon worked well for us in what he did ... but he's not a piece that means much to a club. It's an easy way to add someone to the org for a 2026 non tender candidate.

The way you square low party favorables with an okay generic ballot and very strong special election performance is that the Democratic base is ready to crawl over broken glass to oppose Republicans and furious at party leadership for not feeling the same.
And yet the same poll has the 2026 generic congressional ballot at D+3, so that high disapproval is coming entirely from partisan Democrats themselves. If you've ever wanted to challenge an ineffective Democratic incumbent, you're not going to have a better opportunity than next year.

Completely spot on.
In the wake of firing Brandon Hyde, it’s clear that Mike Elias has taken some of the right lessons to heart. But it feels like he’s learned them far too late — a recurring theme in the past year as the Orioles have fallen behind:
