When I talk to folks in poverty up North about policing they often describe a system whose pervasive surveillance and harassment would be the envy of the most embittered neo-confederate backwater sheriff out there.
"Progressive policing" often just means "more palatable for liberal gentry."

I agree that Noem should resign and be criminally charged (I mean, I’d prefer several other things, but I would settle for that) but I think it’s important to say that there’s no number of resulting arrests that would make this raid defensible or any less of a heinous moral atrocity
