If I were a Member of Congress, I would not have voted with Republicans to censure Rashida Tlaib (like 22 House Dems did).

But I sure would have already introduced a resolution to censure this bigot:
GOP Rep. Randy Fine says he's "not afraid" of being called "Islamophobic" and that, instead of making peace with Palestinians, "destroy them first."

This was during a hearing on "Judea and Samaria"—a term used to erase Palestinian ties to what's actually known as the West Bank.

the atlantic only ever using terms like “material conditions” and “working-class solidarity” when it’s time to defend a racist because their owner would fire all of them if they even thought about unionizing is probably something marx wrote about half a dozen times from different perspectives.
“Those of us on the left should be fighting to improve protections for workers of all races, and thereby for the betterment of people’s material conditions regardless of their views,” Arash Azizi argues:
Why the Cinnabon Story Doesn’t Make Me Happy
The left should be promoting working-class solidarity, not delighting in seeing workers summarily dismissed.

I contacted Foushee 4 weeks ago about my run-in with the border patrol and she still hasn’t responded. Nida Allam was protecting Durham residents, where was she?

shut the fuck up
Yes, a much better outcome would have been to keep the government shut down indefinitely while planes fell out of the sky and the economy began to crash, that certainly is a simply scenario that it would be easy to manage

The Chandler City Council has voted unanimously to reject this AI data center that Kyrsten Sinema was paid to lobby for.

When the ex-senator threatened Chandler over a data center, she was working as a paid lobbyist. She might suck at it.

100% agree. Ironically, this is the only version of "broken windows" that actually makes any sense, because it has to do with the individual behavior of one person going from getting away with small crimes to getting away with big crimes, instead of being some vague theory about general contagion.
My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
It must be wild to get to abuse the public then pay for it with the public's money

Watching Asheville city council — and Roney's no exception — bemoan high cost of housing is like a giant version of that "we're all trying to find the guy who did this" meme. They made the crisis. Roney voted in favor of letting airbnb landlords rewrite the rules. Hundreds lost their housing #avlgov
Councilmember Kim Roney, who voted to make airbnbs easier to install in 2021, now bringing up that YIMBYs tonight did not bring up how airbnbs factor into housing availability. She's running for mayor again and, at least rhetorically, appears to want to improve on past errors #avlgov
