UPDATE: Another Chicago-area church has put up an immigration-themed Nativity scene.

A church member at Urban Village Church sent this one along, where Mary, Joseph and Jesus are gone and replaced with a sign that reads: “Due to ICE activity in our community, the Holy Family is in hiding.”

We’ve reached the point in this crisis where comrades from out of state are shipping us packages of thousands of whistles to distribute.

Know that when we win here- we’ll return that favor for the next city. Just as Chicago has taught us.

We are all in this together.

Yup:
Every use-case people think they "need" and LLM for is actually papering over a different issue. The teacher using ChatGPT to write narrative reports bc the demand is unreasonable & overwhelming *actually* needs more support and/or compensation or a reduction of demand. It's a LABOR issue.

If anyone in the cities (or MN in general) wants whistles to use for I C E alerts, message me. Chicago has been through this crap already, and we want to help y'all out. 🖤 (I have SO MANY whistles)
Why the hell do they keep complaining about Minnesota and saying horrible things about our governor and our Somali friends?

We’re freakin’ Minnesota.

Everyone else should think about us once or twice a year, tops.

Leave us alone.

We have a quarterback situation to worry about.

Toolkit: how we dealt with Border Patrol
In November 2025, Border Patrol announced it would be coming to Charlotte, North Carolina. We only had a few days’ notice. Just like in Chicago and Los Angeles, they weren’t coming to “keep the peace....

Yes 👇
I mean this with all sincerity, and I think I speak for a lot of others: we would rather see undisciplined, amateur art by hand than shitty AI "art" any day.

You want to make fun of Pete Hegseth in a cartoon, but you can't draw? I would rather your stick figures than AI. Just draw.

OMG, yes.
Scientists if you’re like “man I wish more people knew about X” then I humbly suggest hiring an artist to make a thing that communicates X and then put it into the world because it’s so fun, extremely “hell yeah” inducing, you gotta try it.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going.

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.
